Needs some TLC in the guest areas, the initial renovations of the communal areas are promising.
Lack some basics / home comforts (e.g. fast, reliable wifi in the rooms) which are requirements when a business traveller

The exterior of the hotel looks a bit dated and the car park a little awkward to navigate. Most spaces are far from reception too.
The entrance, lobby and reception are bright modern and very clean; quite impressive. The room was certainly dated and in need of maintenance. The heating didn't really work that well and the room warmed up with it switched off despite blowing warm air previously. The exterior window was not latching properly and very unstable on its hinges.
The bar area is lovely and a pleasure to use even on one's own. The bar has to be the selling point of the hotel. The restaurant was not so great as it felt like a works cafeteria with the food quality to match. I have a feeling the food is all pre prepared frozen dishes dinged up as required. This is a shame as there is potential for a great restaurant here.
Overall, quite a pleasant experience and, as long as the price is right, I'll be happy to return. As a gauge, I would rate this as £90 per night hotel for room only.

An ideal hotel if you want to stay in central Stratford and for visiting the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Easy parking too. Good value for a city central hotel. The bathroom needs an upgrade but the bedroom was comfy and had every facility required from tea/coffee and an ironing board and iron.
