Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gem in Kings Cross I have generally had excellent Holiday Inn experiences when I travel internationally. The Holiday Inn and Potts Point was no exception. While the room was a bit dank (carpet needs to be refreshed throughout the hotel), it was certainly clean and well attended. I was a bit nervous as Kings Cross is known as a troublesome area, however the hotel was perfectly safe and its location to the Kings Cross train station is impeccable. Without many sit down restaurants in the area that were just large bars/pubs, I ate several meals at their Sirocco Restaurant on site. The service can be a bit slow, but certainly friendly. The food was delicious albeit quite expensive for the portion sizes. The Mushroom and Chicken Risotto was truly amazing! The breakfast in was very well done - excellent and wide selection, fresh, fast and courteous staff in the morning. The front desk staff were exceedingly helpful, especially when their "business center" computers and printer was not working well. With the exception of a free newspaper (already available in the lobby) I didn't receive anything special for being a Gold member. December 8, 2014
