I was a female travelling on my own, and I have found that a bar with stools along it is a great way of meeting people, sometimes it's nice to simply chat with the barman, happy hours are also a good drawcard. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful but whilst I saw other people on their own there was no opportunity to enjoy each other's company. A complimentary 10 minutes of wifi is available in the reception area but this is totally inadequate for business people or single travellers - I detest hotels who charge for wifi access! I loved the idea of a soft or hard pillow option but a choice of quilt or light blanket would also be great because the quilt was far too warm to sleep under. I found the bed too soft with the feather underlay but that is a personal preference because I've had spinal surgeries and now require a firm bed. It isn't a cheap place to stay but convenient, safe, friendly and comfortable. November 17, 2012

We stayed at the Holiday Inn overnight before the flight and left our car at the hotel for the nine days we were away. The room was even better than we expected, the staff were friendly and efficient, we enjoyed the dining experience and the availability of the parking service made our holiday planning simple and carefree. We have stayed at the hotel before, will do it again and would not hesitate to recommend the service to others. November 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service I have used this hotel a number of times, mainly because I catch the early morning flight back to New Zealand, and it's proximity to the airport affords that little extra sleep time. The staff on the front desk are always so friendly and helpful, and provided there are no others waiting for service, they are always keen to engage in intelligent conversation (Eg; the benefits of an Airbus A380 over a 747!) In one case, I was offered a "check in on-line" to save me doing it myself because I'd not brought my own laptop Little touches like that help ensure a repeat stay, as going back to the Holiday Inn is sometime like going back to a home away from home. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean comfortable room and great service Stayed overnight for an early morning international flight departure. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Facilities were great and the breakfast was excellent. Great advantage to know the car is secure and no problems with parking. Shuttle bus going to airport was great, but disappointed with it on return visit. I know it is a different company, but a late pick up and a grumpy unpleasant driver, who was unhelpful to those who needed it, was not needed for tired travellers. November 13, 2012

Food and beverage is good and there is plenty of parking. Only gripe is the shower over the bath, but everything else makes this a minor irritation. My Sydney airport hotel of choice in the future. However when the new hotel is built actually at the airport and the cost is reasonable we may be tempted to stay there for its better convenience. The Holiday Inn may need to look at its rates and charge for shuttle - even though i know that is another company. October 28, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressed by personal touch We stayed at Sydney Airport HI for 1 night before returning to Canada at the end of our honeymoon. After such a long trip, we were looking forward to finally going home. Usually the last hotel you stay in on a long trip, is an airport hotel. Typically bland and impersonal, that last hotel tends to be the worst of the whole trip. We were very pleased with the hotel, clean/modern/spacious and were thrilled by the staff at the front desk. Within minutes of checking in, some one from the front desk personally delivered a bottle of spakling wine with a handwritten card that was signed by the entire reception team. Very cool. Nice choice of pillows, well-priced bar menu. My only suggestion would be to improve the water pressure for the shower. October 24, 2012

The final bill reflected the wrong rate and it was not a great experience having to rectify this early in the morning before heading off to the airport. I am a Priority member and felt like this did not matter. I stay in motels often and this was one of qthe worst Holiday inns as far as value of money and booking honesty was concerned October 18, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel with one flaw The Sydney Airport Holiday Inn is an excellent hotel in a great location for access to both the airport and the Sydney train system. The room was clean and comfortable. Additionally, it was very quite given the close proximity to both active runways. There is one area that travelers must consider. The airport shuttle is independent of the HI. Based on my experience, they are unreliable. The bus arrived 10 minutes late (on a 20 minute rotation). He then left the property 15 minutes late only to circle the block returning to the HI. My only guess was that he was trying to get back on schedule at my bus loads expense. Either allow thirty minutes extra or take a taxi. October 13, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed but remember to bring your own first aid kit simple accommodation close to the airport. The gym is rudimentary and the pool looks like a small navy blue child's pool shaped in a small kidney shape. There is a small dry sauna attached to the gym. The rooms were comfy and clean. The bed had two types of pillow - soft and firm, a nice touch. Relatively well priced for the long weekend. Staff were friendly, but could have been a bit more helpful. I had a throbbing headache the night of my stay, and was disappointed to find that staff couldn't get any panadol, and would not even if they could for giving headache pills put them at risk of liability. Well so was my headache. Meals were a bit too expensive. Overall comfortable bed and good for a nights sleep. October 9, 2012
