I was staying during my birthday and it was delightful stay. As Platinum, my room was upgraded but not sure what room type it was but the room was so nice and it has living room on it. There are also small cakes and also given free breakfast as compliment for my birthday.
The hotel location is in East Taipei, but they do have complimentary shuttle to several places in Taipei such as Taipei 101 and Taipei Zoo. The staffs also nice, especially those two Singaporean; one in Front Office and another one in Restaurant. Too bad that I didn't remember their name since it was 3 months ago.
All in all, it was very pleasant stay. Surely would be my first choice in IHG when I go back to Taipei. Thank you Holiday Inn East Taipei!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Peace We had beautiful stays
Employees at the front desk were all great in providing answers to our questions and in many occasions, they provided assistance to our needs.
We came with high expectations and your employees have done a great job that made us felt that we were welcomed.
Stay at your hotel, twice, during our trip to Taiwan sure left us with very positive experiences. Will stay at your hotel, if we ever decided to visit Taiwan again.
Hotel location is easy to reach: subway to Taipei Zoo, taxi costs $4.00 or bus for $0.40:)
Many thanks for the great services.

Goods: big room, quiet environment, courteous concierge/reception counter staff, highly competitive price.
Bads: poor housekeeping, unfriendly/inconsiderate restaurant staff, simple / boring breakfast.

Even though this hotel is away from the Taipei, the Staff were very helpful as to what bus and train we should get. Always remember bus 236 to Taipei Zoo. Word of advice, get the train map from the train station, its in colour. This makes it a lot easier to understand.
Everything was great. The only thing is the buffet breakfast. this is not suitable for westerners, who don't eat Asian food. But I will mention that the fried rice is lovely. Also, out of the 3 other countries (Hong Kong

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loyal happy IHG member Great service and spacious rooms
Our 2 families stayed here for the first time in the first week of Jan 15. As Platinum member, we were upgraded to a spacious 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms; and my son's family with their little baby in the Junior suite next to our room.
Room is clean, replenished daily with all amenities. Beds and pillows are excellent, plenty of power points for recharging our devices. Free Wifi was fast and reliable. Television has a few English chanels with movies and news. Plenty and quick elevators.
We were in a high floor next to the Club lounge floor where we had our breakfast and cocktail daily, which was quiet as most tour groups stay in the lower floors which was much noisier.
All staff were very professionally caring for our needs, especially Flora, Wendy and Louis at the Club lounge who were kind enough to assist us when a couple of us were unwell. All staff were fluent in English.
The food was reasonable with variety enough for breakfast, both hot and cold, Asian and Western. Hot food could have better quality and perhaps some changes, instead of having the same food during our 8 nights stay.
The hotel is not in the tourist district but has free shuttle with only 6 seats and need to book in advance, which we could only use twice. When we can't use the shuttle, there are plenty of buses at the front of hotel taking us to nearest subway station. Public transports are cheap and all have English announcements.
Plenty of food outlets open till late around the hotel, even a 7 Eleven store next to hotel with great hot food.
Would definitely stay here again on our future return visit.
