It's good to see that the experience that i had at this hotel prior to this stay was not a one off experience.
all credit to Chris and his staff especially the receptionist who seemed to helping in all areas of the business.
An asset to the hotel.

Parking was no problem.The location of the hotel was ideal.

Stayed to break up journey to Cornwall. Great location and good to be able to use health club -swimming pool and jacuzzi great. Room very comfortable too. Our only disappointment was incredibly slow and slightly disorganised service in the Hotel restaurant -there was a wedding going on so perhaps the staff were a bit over-stretched - however I would have expected higher levels of service considering prices charged for the food !

Stayed here for the weekend during Easter hols. Adult party only.
Ideal base for Somerset/Devon area. Lots of info available about the Area and attractions.
Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Swimming Pool was OK. Unfortunate there is no access from inside the hotel. You have to go outside to get to it. Didn't use the Gym but it looked well equipped.
Children seemed to be catered for, with games & books in lounge area.
Only had Breakfast which was more than satisfying and hot.
Added attraction for children is the automatic pancake maker which was aways being used.
Other restaurants nearby and only a short drive (or taxi) into Taunton.
We would quite happily stay here again and would recommend this hotel for a short break.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions as a couple and with our children and on every occasion it has been fantastic. The spa facilities are amazing and treatments are excellent and at a high quality. All members of staff are polite, friendly and willing to help. Rooms are always clean and of a good size. Our children love staying here and said the beds are comfy and enjoy the breakfast.
Highly recommended look forward to visiting again.

At last. A hotel that is run with customers in mind.
As a business person, i have stayed in many hotels and these days most hotels are run with the the focus on profits and not customer service. Full credit to the manager of ths hotel as they have their focus on customer satisfaction.
All the staff were friendly who took time out to communicate with you.
Had one slight issue with the lack of hot water one one morning but such was the good service i wasn't really that concerned.
An example to other hotes in the chain!
One small winge, never diid find out who won the draw on 28/03/13.....???

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions whilst on business. Conveniently located just off the M 5 but thankfully in a comparatively quiet location. Staff are excellent and appear genuinely concerned in doing everything possibl to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
A very good on site leisure complex with good gym and pool.
Restaurant very good, with a varied menu and excellent food quality.Need to book on busy evenings.
An excellent hotel I am happy to stay at .

I found the room clean, comfortable and no outside noise. All the staff was very friendly, obliging and always spoke to you. Everyone of them had a smile on their face and made me feel welcome. The food was excellent. The breakfast had so much to choose from and the evening meal I had was lovely

This is probably the best Holiday Inn Hotel I have been to - and I've been to a few! I thought initially it was just the receptionist who was amazing but every member of staff that I came into contact with during my stay was consistently helpful, kind and professional. It was a real pleasure to stay there.

Stayed here over the weekend with my two daughters, 6,9 years of age. Upon arrival they progressed straight into the swimming pool with the towels provided by the hotel, (Over the weekend used the pool five times ). The reason for me writing this review is the fact the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to help the guests out to have a pleasant stay. All the staff were brilliant, the atmosphere in the bar was quiet, I had breakfast for £10.95 but my kids eat free, absolutely lovely breakfast, hot or cold something there for everyone. If you are heading down south and want a nice, quiet relaxing place to stay you will not go far wrong if you stay here. Thanks again

Took the family away for a 2 night reward break and choose this hotel for its locality. As I stay in many hotels I have too say this is up there for all round comfort and service from a business sense and also from a family perspective. Food was good and staff were attentive and my daughter especially liked the milk and cookies at bedtime. Well done too all the staff.

We have stayed here before and so decided it would be a good place to go for a long weekend away to celebrate our anniversary - it was us plus our children aged 11 and 4. We booked a Somerset Winter Break and found it to be amazing value. We had a gorgeous meal in the restaurant on the night of our actual anniversary (Saturday) and all the staff seemed to know it was our anniversary - possibly down to my son! The hotel kindly placed a lovely bottle of bubbly and a card in our room on the Saturday night which was a lovely thoughtful touch. Special thanks must go to the female manager (I did not find out her name but she had long dark brown hair and lots of badges on her jacket lapel) as I am sure she was fundamental in organising this. Sophie on reception was also really friendly and helpful. The only down sides were that the swimming pool was a little cold for me - but then it was below freezing outside. Also as funds were tight, we only booked a standard family room and not an executive room and things were a little tight when we were all in the room together.
We had decided to go back in th summer and tie it in with watching Somerset play cricket but within 30 minutes of being home, we had already looked up rates for Easter and so it looks like we are coming back on Good Friday - I cannot wait!!

The service provided by the staff an management at this hotel is excellent, as a regular for the past few months it feels good to be recognised and for the staff to remember my personal preferences. I have observed that this attention to detail is evidenced at all interactions and I am sure that is why such a number of guests are regulars. If you are planning a visit to the area you should consider this hotel.

The reception staff were really freindly and weloming, I received a welcome gift for being a priority club member which was really nice.
The room was comfortable and the location was close to the motorway but was still able to be quiet.
The lounge area was large and welcoming.
All in all a really nice hotel with friendly staff.

Just wanted to add a note about the the dishes on the Specials board at dinner. I have had three dishes on consecutive stays at this hotel, and whilst one was okay the other two have been excellent, my thanks to all the kitchen staff who are doing a great job both with these individual dishes and the whole breakfast service in the morning.
It is also worth noting how staff throughout the hotel are incredibly polite and welcoming, more so than anywhere else I stay in the UK.

Spent three nights at the HI and overall the stay was very good. My request for a quiet room was accomodated. An issue with the room lock speedily resolved (the room had been repainted and the doorplate put back incorrectly. Sofa bed in the room was a bit stained but and the base sheet on the bed a bit ruckled but it didn't take a moment to remake. These niggles reduce my rating down from excellent. The staff as ever were fantastic and I appreciated the availability of screen cleaner and coffee to go on departure.

This hotel is well situated to explore the local area. There is a friendly spacious and bright bar with a seperate resturant.Good food and great service. Bedrooms are well equiped and comfortable with plenty of room.I would highly recommend this hotel.

What started as a pit-stop location en route to Cornwall one year has become a destination of choice when (as we often do) visit family in Taunton. We always choose the Holiday Inn as it is just the right mixture of efficient and relaxed. We particularly like the spacious downstairs area with its large but not intrusive TV. The pool and gym facilities are a welcome bonus. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Much more than a motorway stop. Thank you.

Stayed one night 28/12 on way to Plymouth. Hotel easy to find less than one minute from M5. Reception excellent, room excellent, leisure centre if you want. Breakfast superb and everything hot and fresh which is not always the case on a buffet breakfast. Overall a really nice hotel with really nice staff. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed with the family for few days, till the Xmas day. Its one of the very well kept places I have stayed in recently. Very good customer service and the rooms were kept really clean.
The front area had a selection of few kids books which was handy and found selection of few cookies (occassionaly). The food was very good.
Swimming / Spa and Sauna facilities were really good and good fun for families.
Would be glad to recommend a stay here.

I know that this is the pleasentest place to stay in the area . The staff are the best!!
You are in a generic holiday inn..., even the shampoo is the same. BUT and it is a a bit BUT!... what makes the diffference here, is the staff, from the management down to the cleaners they are all very freindly without being intrusive. They will go out their way to make your experience as good as it can be. Promote them all I say, as there are alot of HI's that can benfit from their customer attention. Very very good work! One point of contention is the WiFi not free and expensive!!!

Staff were quick, efficient and very welcoming after we arrived to find a wedding reception taking place and wondered if this would be a disruption for our short break but pleased to say it wasn't at all. Food was like a top restaurant, nice surprise. Most friendly and helpful place I've stayed for some time with everyone we met during our stay having the same pleasant and helpful attitude. Highly recommended. Only downside is the gym was a minute walk from the main building but well worth visiting.
