Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I wouldn't eat here! The room was large, clean and extremely comfortable and everything worked well. The staff at Reception were very pleasant and helpful, with someone always manning the desk. However, the evening meal which we had booked was atrocious. The first course took forty minutes to arrive. When we questioned why, we were told that the ‘chef’ “had broken the fish-cake” that my husband had ordered. I had ordered melon, thinking how refreshing a slice of melon with blueberries would be. However, when the starters finally arrived, what I got was a circle of shavings of melon on the plate, white shavings on the outside, pink ones in the middle. I think it was supposed to look like a flower. It failed. The promised accompanying blueberries had been transmuted into a very large leaf of red lettuce. The main courses took a similar length of time to arrive. I had ordered garlic chicken, with herb mash and, I believe, an apple sauce. There was absolutely no garlic in the garlic chicken - it was completely devoid of taste. The herb mash was entirely innocent of herbs. The strange congealed cream-coloured blob on top on the chicken certainly did not taste of apple – or indeed, of anything else. Finally, two hours later, at almost 10 p.m., our desserts were delivered – two sticky toffee puddings. These were definitely almost warm on the outside – but, alas, still frozen in the middle. I returned the plates to the waitress, suggesting strongly that the ‘chef’ put them back in the microwave for another few minutes. Although the accommodation was fine I would never have an evening meal here again and would recommend readers to book their accommodation elsewhere. June 27, 2015

Occupant next door was an early riser at 05.00 which caused some sleep disruption. Real disappointment with the room service menu and lack of water cooler/fridge. June 26, 2015

The onsite pool makes a great fitness and leisure activity and the food is amongst the best I have ever had at the Holiday Inn chain. Compliments to the chef and good value for money. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay at Ironbridge Whilst we did not take advantage of the full range of facilities available, due to the brevity of our stay, we were very pleased with the accommodation. There was something of a party going on in the lobby when we arrived, and I confess I frowned at the thought of struggling to sleep with all that noise, but it was impossible to hear even from inside the elevator, much less our room, and we were asleep in moments - very welcome after a long drive :) We definitely made the right choice for our stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by For comfort and ease On arrival there was avery pleasant young lady who checked us in, she took an interest in why we were there and offered any assistance we may need explaining that there was 24 hour reception cover. The room was clean and bright and the beds very comfortable, we did not experience any traffic noise or any other sort of noise during our stay. The bar staff were also very attentive, there was a good choice of food on the bar menu and what we bought was delicious. June 18, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel This is a nice hotel, but is overpriced on most occasions which is why I cannot stay here as often as I would like to. My only disappointment on this stay was the mess up by restaurant staff regarding charging the meal to my room. As a Platinum member, generally a pre-auth on my card is not asked for, and as I use a corporate card there is no risk.. However, about 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant I received a phone call from the restaurant staff (I won't mention her name publicly), saying they cannot charge the meal to my room without a card pre-auth, despite explaining how it works to her, she insisted I came back to the restaurant to pay the bill. Instead, I went to the reception, and was given reassurance that the meal will be added to my bill. I was a little put out by this episode, and as a result very weary about staying at this particular Holiday Inn again. June 9, 2015
