Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alex114 Lovely staff
I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the arena. It was also convenient for the restaurants and shopping in Telford.
The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
Slightly annoyed by other guests children running up and down the corridors after 11pm, knocking on bedroom doors.
Would happily stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katie N Excellent service, lovely staff, very relaxing stay, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Me and my husband stayed a night on a short business trip. Staff was very helpful, polite and nice. We didn't have breakfast (due to lack of time), although did enjoy coffee & tea in our beautiful room in our very comfy bed. They even provided toothpaste & (single-use) toothbrushes on request and as club members we had complimentary internet. Unfortunately didn't have time to use gym or spa although it would have been included in our room price which was very competitive (even less than comparison sites advertised on the internet as booked in advance directly with Holiday Inn). Great value for excellent service. Highly recommend everyone and can't wait to go back again. Thank you very much we had a very relaxing stay, I only wish it'd been a bit longer!

One of our more recent better Holiday Inn stays Very helpful staff, only stayed one night so unable to use all the facilities, but definitely would stay here again.
On the plus side our little westie was welcomed as much as us, more hotels should consider this facility. On the down side all disabled parking was occupied during all of our stay, but we were asked if we required any further assistance.
Overall a pleasant short stay at good value and we will return.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Loulou54 Christmas break
Spent 3 nights at the Holiday Inn found the staff on reception and in restaurant extremely helpful and
pleasant. Love the fact we can take the dogs. Only
negative point was the room was too hot and couldnt turn radiator off. Overall though very pleased now all they need to do is reduce the overall price and would definitely stay more often.

Cold - we ate supper in the bar area (this was our only option as we did not want a full sit down meal in the dining area) however the bar area was extremely cold and most unpleasant to sit in that we ate our meal quickly in order to go back to our bedroom for some warmth. When sitting in the area the next morning for a coffee it was again cold, and walking around the whole hotel did not think it particularly warm.
Breakfast – we arrived for our breakfast at 9.10am on Christmas morning and was told there was nowhere to sit other than in the bar area, this was cold as we had experienced from the previous night, but we had no choice but to sit there. The selection of food was poor – most things weren’t replenished, there were no labels on some items such as grapefruit/watermelon to know the difference (my daughter tried one that appeared to be watermelon with the pips but was in fact grapefruit that she doesn’t like), the scrambled egg was rubbery and waiting for the toast meant getting in people’s way that were needing to get past to their tables. We realise you had a huge party of bridge guests that night/morning and that you were expecting guests for Christmas lunch, but it was nonetheless an unsatisfactory breakfast in every respect.
Bedrooms – no extra blanket/duvet was provided in the wardrobe like in other hotels - my daughter had a very cold room and a thin duvet and had to sleep the night with a towel over her duvet just to keep warm.
Checkout - we did not have to check out until 12pm so I and my daughter were in our rooms getting our things ready prior to departure. Outside my daughter’s room she heard people talking quite loudly and then a mobile phone played with swear words right outside her door. Upon looking through the spy hole in the door to see what the noises were about she could see two chamber maids stood outside her door waiting to clean it and saw them fiddling with the mobile and heard more talk about hurrying up as they needed to clean the room – it appeared the talk of people needing to hurry up and the noise had been played to try to make an impact on the person in my daughter’s room – she is quite offended by swear words so didn't appreciate hearing this at all but then was even more perturbed and upset to see through the spy hole that one of the chambermaids pulled a face up and made gestures at her door, the gestures implying to hurry up as they were waiting outside. My daughter was most upset by this that she didn't feel able to open the door and inform the chambermaids she was not yet ready to leave her room but felt she then had to rush to pack and get ready inside her room whilst listening to the noises outsides. Had the chambermaids knocked politely and professionally and asked my daughter how long she anticipated she might be my daughter would not have minded, and whilst she realises chambermaids have a tight timescale to turn rooms around, she was very offended by the fact that the chamber maids were pressurising her by noises, faces and gestures to leave her room; my daughter had not overstepped her check out time so this was unnecessary and unprofessional on the part of the chambermaids, and not very nice spirited given it was Christmas day.
