When I walked into the hotel, the fire alarms were going off. It was a false alarm, a child had pulled the handle. Since there was only one person at the desk, she was trying to cancel the alarm, talk to the fire department, answer phones, and check in guests at the same time. For the price of these rooms, I expect there to be enough staff on duty to handle an emergency like this. The woman at the front desk did a wonderful job at tending to guests and staying professional during all the chaos. Kudos to her! That was the only frustrating thing about our stay.
The rooms are beautifully decorated. It was a little humid and stuffy when we walked into the room. Turning on the air made it comfortable in just a few minutes. It is so nice to be in a non-smoking hotel! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had the best nights sleep in weeks on that bed. We did not eat at the hotel, we decided that if we were going to pay for breakfast, we would try something unique. We went to a restaurant that serves food produced locally and it was wonderful. This hotel is close enough to town that getting to any restaurant or event is really just minutes away, and we never heard any noise from the highway. Very nice, we will stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Janetta56 Nice place to stop between Austin and Dallas
I recently stopped at this hotel after a UT Football game and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, quiet surroundings, and wonderful staff at this hotel. I usually stop in Salado, but that hotel was booked and the hotel suggested I try to contact this hotel. I was given a great rate and my husband and I will be stopping again in December.

Wanted to let you know that the door leading to the parking lot from our hallway needs to be adjusted. It makes a sliding noise when closing like the weather striping needs to be trimmed. You can hear from the room every time the door was opened. This is NOT a compliant, just hopefully a suggestion. Great stay, will stay here again when we are in the area.

This is my 7th or 8th stay in Temple at this property. Always the same great service. The internet service does leave some to be desired. I don't know why these great hotels don't take pride in providing excellent internet to guests.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HANK54 Great hotel, but NO ONE to Change light bulbs??
I was here for 5 days. I must start by saying this is a nice hotel I really enjoyed the rooms especially the one with the king bed. Very roomy , clean and chair with ottoman layout was much appreciated.
Maid service in general was GREAT. However, my issue is a little with the maid service and the maintanence. First I was in room 219 with 2 queens then moved into room 225 with a king bed. For 2 days the light above the tub was out. I did not report it until I switched rooms. Why dont the maids see this things and report them? Then I moved to a King rooom #225. In this room it has a good size entry way and the entry light that is on a sensor did not work. It was that way when I moved into the room. Again why dont maids report this. I did not get to reporting it until about after 4pm on Friday. So maintenance staff is gone until MONDAY so, there is NO ONE at this HOTEL that can change a light bulb until Monday. That is a little pathetic. Holiday Inn hotel rooms with ALL the lights on are a little on the dim side I am getting a little older and I have noticed I need all the light I can get. So now I am in a room that has NO entrance light so no light in the closet area or for the refrigerator or the coffee pot. No ONE can change a light bulb for 2&1/2 days. I was very disappointed.
The front desk staff apoligized but said there is NOTHING they could do.

The hotel cancelled our conference room for a meeting of 70 two days before event. Refused to let us cancel hotel rooms because we had a contract. Amazing that the hotel could cancel our event and still require us to stay there. People traveled across the nation to attend this event. We had to rent vans to transport attendees to other meeting site. Terrible sales staff and manager. May Never stayat a holiday inn again

My wife and I enjoyed our 53rd wedding anniversary at the Holiday Inn in Temple, Texas. We had planned a different day, but, complications prevented. We planned to eat at one of Temple's many great restaurants. When we saw the extremely nice restaurant in the Holiday Inn, with Christi's help, ( she is the front desk clerk), we decided to eat our anniversary dinner there. They really made us feel Special. The food was excellent, service very good, and at the end they brought us a complimentary desert.
