When i tryed to check in Monday an employee decided to reset some computer program that did not allow for issuing room keys, When asked how long, she did not know. So i went into wait mode. When I got to my room after dinner I found the air conditioner was somewhat noisy and did not cool properly. I asked the desk for a maintenance person to repair the unit. Not one on duty, so they offered to move me. After I repacked my things, I found out yhet were moving me to a second floor room with out elevator service. I chose to stay and open a window. The following morning (Tuesday) I made sure the front desk was aware of the problem with the air conditioner. When I returned to the room that evening, The air was working well, however by 9:00 PM it was extremely noisy. I called the front desk and once again told no maintenance personal. Again, I opened the window and went to bed. Wednesday morning I made sure the desk knoew what was wrong with the AC. I came back and it had not been repaired. i went to the desk and I was told that the maintenacne engineer could not find any thing wrong with the unit. I asked to be moved, I was moved to a different room. A maintence man showed up to repair the door to the new room (?) I asked for him to look at the AC in the first room. He agreed that it ws too noisy to sleep. Claimed that he could fix it if there had been parts available. However, no parts were in stock. I checked out one day early and stayed across the street at the Hampton. This is not what i expect from the name "Holiday Inn"

It was clean but outdated. Only one washer and dryer for the whole place and the hotel across from it was also using it. would only recommend to someone if it was a quick trip like mine. was not recognized as a priority club member

BEAUTIFUL LOBBY, RESTAURANT, AND POOL AREA. ROOMS...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. OUTDATED, DIRTY CARPET, STAINED CHAIR, DIRTY SHOWER FLOOR, COBWEBS BEHING FURNITURE, DUST EVERYWHERE, AND THE BEDDING RIDICULOUS. I CLEANED THE TOILET, WIPED OFF THE TISSUE BOX WHICH WAS SMEARED WITH ??? AND WORE SHOWER SLIPPERS ON THE DIRTY SHOWER FLOOR. I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER AND SHE SHOWED ME 3 OTHER ROOMS THAT WERE THE SAME. SHE SAID THE PLACE WAS OVERDUE FOR A REDO.
WE DID HAVE A DECENT BREAKFAST THE NEXT AM ALTHOUGH ONE OF THE STAFF SEEMED TO BE HAVING A CONFRONTATION WITH ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER WHICH RAISED A FEW EYEBROWS. I CONTACTED AAA BECAUSE WE USED THEIR BOOK. THEY SIAD THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING YOU.

My husband and I are frequenters of the HolidayInn Express brand hotels, we've stayed in HIEx from the southeast to the midwest. The Terra Haute HIEx was BY FAR the worst we've experienced. Immediately, we were shocked by poor service when tried to check in for our stay... of the three staff "working" the front desk, one was flirting with a member of a college golf team and another was looking on. We stood unacknowledged with all our baggage in the hotel lobby for over 10 minutes. When one of the staff finally did check us in, she did not acknowledge our Priority Club status, ask us our room preferences, or provide any of the benefits our membership should provide. Our room was poolside and the noise was terrible! Children ran and shrieked around the pool unattended, adults blatantly consumed copious amounts of beer in the hot tub, meters away from where small children splashed. We had to go to the local mall to find some peace and quiet! When we returned around 10pm, we were treated to a megaphone announcing that children had to leave the pool, it was now "adult swim" time. This unnecessarily loud announcement was greeted by children's shrieks and screams. Back in our room, everything was old and worn. The shower head, usually a highlight of a HIEx stay, was so low, my husband (6'1") could not shower without semi-squatting. In the morning, we went to the breakfast buffet and again had to wait over 10 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. Needless to say, we will NEVER stay at this location again.

Room was dirty, stains on the bed linnes. Made reservation 10 days ahead and could not get on the Club floors.
Fire alarm went off 5 times in one evening!

Our high school team was in town for a tournament, and had 10 + rooms. The staff bent over backwards to meet every need. They even met our needs for last minute things we hadn't planned on, with no complaints on their part. Absolutely top notch customer service! We highly recommend Holiday Inn Terre Haute!

If the bathroom door didnt open into the closet- making you have to step in there to shut the door.
If the outside door key worked right- so that my disabled traveler wasnt locked out in the cold- not once- but twice. Thank God for cellphones so I could let her in from the inside.
The staff just said- it happens all the time.. Maybe someone should get a new card reader or key?
If smoking was still allowed in our room so no one had to go outside in the cold.
Yet-- all in all- it was private, clean, and we did not need to call the desk because everything was well stocked in our room.
We will stay again next month- hopefully we will get a room by the other entrance.

No easy way to get to room with luggage due to no elevator.
Room not designed for working in room. No desk or office chair.
Felt unsafe even though I was on the inside of building especially when sign on door stated "For your own safety, please fasten safety chain.

I have stayed at this property several times as I am in this area monthly for business. They usually do a good job with the upgrades for Platinum Club members. There must not have been any upgrades available on this stay. I was on the Priority Club floor but to me it was just a normal room with nothing special. The breakfast buffet is good with several choices and it is nice as it is complimentary for the Priority Club.

room has dated furniture but adequate. Pool very warm and spa ok, beds good. Breakfast had a lot of greasy items which we dont like but other stuff filled us up.......RATING 9.0 we'll be back..

There was 1 outlet reachable in my room, the one on the desk lamp (that I wanted to plug my laptop into.) I need to recharge phone, computer, etc. when I travel. I need an AC outlet somewhere that's accessable.
That, and Cortni at the front desk not recognizing my Gold status in any way made this the rare bummer of a HI stay.

When I checked in The alarm clock did not work and the door to the other half of my swite was locked. I stoped at front desk in the morning and ask if they could be fixed. When I got back to my room at 4PM the room was cleaned but not one thing was fixed.

We stayed here and we received an old ugly room. Kids were running up and down the hallways until 11:00 PM. We have stayed at 50 Holiday Inn Expresses and this by far is the worst and we will never stay here again. I was so disgusted, I did not even stay for the breakfast. If I wanted to stay at a Motel 6, I would have stayed there.

This is an older property but is very well kept. The room was clean and nice as well as spacious. The breakfast buffet was terrific with several options.

I stayed in this hotel over the weekend for drill with the ANG and can't say I had any complaints. The room I stayed in was clean, to include the bathroom. I see a lot of bad complaints about people that have stayed here but I can't agree. I would definitely recommend staying here and if you have the choice, ask for a room that faces out! They are better than the ones that face the inside (pool) and quieter.

I stay at this hotel at least 3 times a month. The staff is awesome and the hotel makes you feel like you'e on a getaway. I recommend it to anyone I know traveling to Terre Haute. I really enjoy the hotel and all it has to offer

No vent fan in the bathroom.
Paint peeling on ceiling between bedroom & alcove.
Room needs to be upgraded.
Toilet dirty around seat attachments.
Side of bed closest to door sank in the middle.
No security cameras outside AND SOMEONE DECIDED TO PUNCH A HOLE IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR RIGHT BELOW THE HANDLE!!!!!

There were some people running up and down the hall several times throughout the night yelling and screaming. When I checked out the next morning the desk clerk asked me how everything was and if I enjoyed my stay. I told her no and that I barely slept. She got the manager and I explained. The manager asked me if I called to complain. I said no. She said then there is nothing she can do. She told me it's my responsibility to report this kind of stuff. She then went on to blame it on Marines who were going to be staying there for an annual ball (the next night.) I did see a few Marines around when I arrived, but they were not rowdy looking! They looked exhausted, hauling their bags to their room for a night of rest! As a Veteren, I resent this "manager" blaming the terrible behavior going on in her hotel on Marines she never saw doing anything wrong. I told her the noise I heard was women yelling. She said it's the Marines girlfriends and wives then. Shame on this "manager" for 1). blaming the Marines. Marines staying at your hotel are paying your paycheck and protecting this country and 2). just assuming I wanted something. I didn't WANT anything from the hotel in return for a terrible night's sleep. They asked how it was, so I told them. TERRIBLE. Not everyone is out to get something in this world.

We were very unhappy with our stay. A busy time for the town and you have the pool closed. We should have been told the pool would not be opened. ,Very bad on your part. Next year we will book someplace with a pool we can use.

The bed was so comfortable. I have back problems and this bed was theraphy for me. I slept like a baby. The hotel service overall was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn in the past; however, we were disappointed in several areas;
#1: The A/C-furnace did not work the first night; very cold by a.m. Maintenance fixed the next day.
#2" The shower had a very low water pressure.
#3: The toilet did flush properly plus was too low.
#4: The room was clean;however, it looked like it needed cleaning.
#5: Did not like the smell of the room. Something was sprayed to ccver up smells, it seemed.
#6: The water did not go down the drain very quickly when showering.
#7: Called the front desk about several empty wine bottles behind the refrigerator. Two days later, still there.
Going to a Holiday Inn used to be equal to the comforts of home; however, does not seem to be that way anymore.

I reserved our room online in August for an Oct. stay. I had asked for a king bed, but when we arrived the only availabiliy was a regular size or 2 twins. This room also seemed smaller than a room with a king. Why didn't someone let us know in advance they would not have a king available? We stay here every year when we come for the Covered Bridge Festival and have never had this problem before. The room was uncomfortable and we were very unhappy this happened!

Your hotel provided us very friendly and accomodating service. Everybody from the front desk staff, the cleaning crew, and the waitresses in the breakfast area were more than willing to take care of us. The chef on Sunday morning making omelettes and waffles was a very nice touch. Thank you for making the Indiana State homecoming experience even more enjoyable.
