on our way up to Maine and have for the last 8 years. With one exception - a very large and noisy wedding party years ago it has been a wonderful experience every time. Since I am a deaf traveler with a service animal, I am remembered when I arrive and know they are genuinely happy to see us. Can't beat it.
It's a long day driving up from the DC area in weekend traffic and it's nice "coming home." It's also wonderful to be so close to the NH/Me border in the morning.
Staff picks for dining have also been great.

For the price that I paid I did not get the proper service,
I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

This Hotel needs some updating, some more bathroom lighting and adequate clean and easy to use luggage racks that are always available!
Otherwise, the name, the location and the staff personify what the original Holiday Inn set out to provide!!

We stayed here because it was close to where we were visiting. The only real downfalls was the double beds. It would have been more comfortable if they had queen size beds. There were 3 adults in the room. Also it would have been nice to have a complimentary breakfast like most other hotel chains. We left the hotel for breakfast. Other than that our overall stay was fine.

The air conditioner leaked water all over the carpet, and had an awful musty smell in the rooom.

The ladies at the front desk were curt, impatient and acted as if we were an imposition on them when we checked in.
Room was not ready at 3, we had to wait until almost 3:45
The breakfast was terrible - the eggs were overcooked, a poor variety, and the pastries stale.
The AC was broken in the room.
Very disappointing experience.
