Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ask questions first! Upon my arrival I was greeted in a friendly manner, and check in was quick and efficient, but that's where the nice stuff ends. I was not informed my room only had a walk-in shower (the website advertises a tub in every room), and there was no working light in the shower. I had them move me to a standard room with two doubles instead of a king, even though the king is what I prefer when I travel. They explained it away saying "oh, all the king rooms are like that." Even so, the lighting in the bathroom was more like a dive bar than a bathroom, and the design was awkward with a wall next to the shower that served absolutely no purpose. My room was reasonably clean, but there was no welcome book left out for guests to explain the restaurant hours, TV channels, etc. I was informed later they keep them in the desk, and I found it just before my departure next to the bed in the nightstand. This hotel also advertises in-room movies, which do not exist in any guest room. The attached restaurant is inconsistent at best. My burger for dinner was great, but breakfast the next morning is awful. How do you mess up biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon? (by the way, I cut the top of my mouth on the bacon because it was WAY overdone). For a major hotel/convention center, this place was completely dead on a weekend. I liked the quiet, but now I realize why the place was so dead. They need to remodel all of their king guest rooms to include a tub/shower with adequate lighting for ALL the bathrooms. Otherwise, whoever is in charge of the website needs to change the information to reflect what this hotel actually does have! I was definitely not be back based on my experience! November 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bartender and restaurant service staff are non-attentive, ROOM smelled I was unhappy with the bartender and wait staff's lack of attention. Both areas were grossly understaffed considering the large volume of customers onsite. Hotel management should better plan staffing resources based the amount of reservations for the weekend. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK Experience I would place this Holiday Inn at average compared to other Holiday Inns. We attended a business function at the attached convention center. After the function ended many of the attending business owners retreated to the hotel lounge. The lounge was way under staffed and closed shop at 12:30 AM. My only major problem was the badge wearing security guards that where very Gestapo like while cruising thru the bar and closing the place down. November 19, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hospitality We traveled 8 hours for a wake/funeral. Upon our arrival we were greeted in the entrance with a display of pumpkin carvings! Your staff made some excellent pumpkins! But the beauty of the displays is your staff was so engaged in it and included us by making sure we voted! I am a general manager of a restaurant and understand the importance of making a guest feel welcome! Quite impressed with your entire staff with the way they interact with guests!!! November 3, 2013

By the time this happened, I was the only person in front of her. Then, I decided to talk to another receptionist. This time I received the attention and the information that all customers deserve. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just don't open or close the bathroom door and everything else will be ok. Everything else about our stay was top notch but the bathroom door was really a problem for me. It is made to do double duty. It is a door to the room and if you push back on it, it becomes a door to provide privacy for the toilet area. This sounds like a great idea. Except that the hardware really doesn't work so you have to push with mighty force just to get out of the toilet area. (Not only would this be tricky for a youngster) But the metal on metal sound this made was very loud. So loud it ruined what otherwise could have been a good nights sleep. And isn't that what people really want in a hotel? I don't know if that particular door just needed some maintenance or what but they really shouldn't have rented that room in that condition to anyone. October 14, 2013

My room was more than adequate, clean, and the beds just right: not too hard, not too soft, just right. Whenever I called down to the main desk I had an immediate response and was taken care of right away. I was impressed with the willingness of the staff to accommodate me when I requested someone to check on my room to see if I had unplugged my curling iron because I feared that I had forgotten to do that. The lady answering the phone when I called was very helpful and made arrangements right away to take care of the potential problem. I was impressed. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 2 room suite I was very disappointed. I thought for the amount of money I was spending the rooms would have been alot nicer. There were stains on the blinds stains in the shower and the shower was just discussing that I actually wore flip flops in the shower. I am hoping that the rest of the rooms that my guest that came from out of town for my wedding rooms were not as gross as mine was. October 8, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't have asked for better! I was recently there with a couple friends for a scrapbook convention. We had a great time. It was so nice to be right there and not have to even get in the car. The staff was so helpful and friendly. One of us cut our finger, bandaid and alcohol wipe to the rescue! We had both an early check in and a late check out without any problem. We did feel the food was a little pricey in Bananas, but tasty! The staff there were also very accommodating! Would have loved a breakfast buffet or simplified choices over choosing from a menu. October 8, 2013

I realize that they are really booked up with a conference, but come on, at least hide the fact that you do not care about my thoughts. Additionally, when I arrived, my room was on the sixth floor and I came to find out that BOTH of the elevators were broken. I ended up lugging my luggage up six flights of stairs. The only problem we had was housekeeping knocking on our door at 8:30 & at 10:30 in the morning. This happened to our friends who were staying there also. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Discrimination I was a guest there over the weekend and reserved two connecting suites! I reserved the suites a month in advance. I was not told that my credit card would be charged 3 days in advance for the cost of the room. I was very upset about this! When checking into my rooms, the representative was very nice and asked what brought us to the hotel! I informed her that it was my daughters 5 th birthday and she wanted to enjoy swimming. She assured me that she was there all night and if there was anything she could do to help make my daughter's birthday nice for her to let her know. Well no more than than 15 minutes later a call was made to my room that 25 people came to my room and a noise ordnance was read off to me! I was very upset by this because it was only me and my mother that had checked in and was in the room at the time! My mother had to go to the desk to set things clear and in that time she found out that there were other African Americans in the hotel having a sleep over and they assumed we were all together because we are black! Then the hotel had managers knocking on doors to check people's rooms! Unacceptable! I was very upset and displeased with this hotel and would never recommend it to anyone! I reserved the rooms there so that my daughter could have a nice birthday but got harrassing phone calls and monitoring like we were children! September 11, 2013

This confirms my opinion that the Holiday Inn Expresses are far cleaner and up to date, same size room, more reasonably priced, and better staffed, compared to the standard Holiday Inns. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room and comfortable bed Our room was very clean however, it seemed like a chore to have enough toliet paper in our room. When we arrived there was a double roll which both were almost gone. When we requested more, we were only given one roll which as women, we used almost completely. When we asked for another roll, we were told they would bring it to us. We never received it. The tissue holder was empty and we were never given clean towels at our request. The hotel itself is great but the service was terrible. September 5, 2013
