I was disappointed with my stay this time. When I took a shower I had to use two hands and pull with all my might to get the water turned on. I am not a weak person at all and it was very difficult for me to turn the water on and off. The heat kept me awake all night. The heating system made such a terrible noise all night I could not sleep. i did not arrive to the hotel until 1:00 a.m. so I was exhausted and did not call the front desk to move becasue I was to exhausted to move my room at that time.

I am always impressed at the clealiness of your rooms. I have always had a "yuky" feeling knowing I had to sleep in a bed thousands of others have slept in. I don't have that feeling at Holiday Inn. I always get a good nights sleep. The rugs are clean as well as the bathrooms. I would recommend Holiday Inn to anyone.

I'm definitely coming back here in the summer to go to Seaside. This is a well managed hotel from top to bottom. I stayed here because I won a gift certificate, and honestly wasn't expecting much... but had a great time. they have a big indoor pool and a well stocked bar. Courtney & Alexis at the front desk were very professional. The pillows were just right. Even the coffee wasn't half bad.

Even before I checked in, they were very responsive and answered all my questions. When i arrived, the ladies at the front desk were helpful and full of energy even though the hour was late. From housekeepers to bartenders, everyone when out of their way to help me out! Food wasn't fantastic but it hit the spot. Room had all the basics and was very clean. No regrets. Good place to stay!

Stayed there two nights for a friend's wedding; and even though the hotel from outside does look a bit old; the room i got was pretty big, and clean. The lady at the front desk was great! very nice and welcoming and willing to help with any request.
Overall i'll definately recommend this hotel!

Beds were rock hard. Staff was less than congenial. Felt like you were doing them a favor by staying there. I have enjoyed HI in the past and I'm sure I will in the future just not while in Toms River.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sec241 AMAZING customer service
Honestly that was the best customer service I have EVER received at a hotel.
First, Jennifer at the front desk treated my three girlfriends and I like her friends. She was so excited for us to enjoy St Patrick ’s Day festivities in Seaside. She helped us call a cab, let us check in early, and seemed so concerned and caring about our safety at the parade and hotel stay. She made great conversation and was so extremely pleasant. I live in Jackson, NJ and we did not want to drink and drive so we randomly chose the Holiday Inn in Toms River. I am so pleased with my choice. The rooms are average; the beds were average, but the front desk manager and restaurant staff is what made my stay excellent. I WILL stay with Holiday Inn, In Toms River- every St. Patrick’s day. The price was right for 4 girls in a two bed hotel room. The hotel seemed clean and the guests were quiet and respectful. The restaurant stayed open a little later for us as we were starving after a rough day in seaside! The food was so good. I got the cranberry chicken salad- excellent. My friend got the buffalo wings and I liked those a lot too! Great food, great staff. The breakfast buffet is nice too. Our servers were awesome, I only remember Kyle’s name. But there was a woman, shorter, with dark hair who waited on us twice. She was so friendly. I might just stop in to say hi to Jennifer every time I pass Toms River. Shes honestly such a great person and made us feel so at home. It’s nice to see people who are passionate about their job and care about their guests. Give this woman a raise! Lol! 5 star customer service.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hallo Broken Shower , Very Noisy
As a Priority Club member I was very disappointed with our stay in this hotel. The shower was broken and only had one temperature , scalding hot. There was only one large towel provided. The heater was extremely noisy. My family usually stays in Holiday Inns and have stayed in this one on prior occasions but with so many other options available in the area would be unlikely to stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by travelwithannie Great Surprise!
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn in Toms River. Room was comfortable and staff was helpful and friendly. In fact, we arrived late and the front desk representative called the restaurant ahead to have them stay open (restaurant closes at 10pm and we arrived 945pm) so that we could get a bite to eat. The snack machines came in handy, too! My ONLY complaint was the coffee. The in room coffee is great but the coffee taste was not too good. So, in my eyes, this hotel was excellent!

It has been a very long time since I stayed a hotel and had such wonderful customer service. I recently stayed at the Toms River Holiday Inn with a group of friends and our children. I can't begin to praise the staff enough. We were greeted by Jennifer at the front desk and it was like being greeted by a friend. She was able to get all our rooms near each other so we didn't have to worry about the kids walking around the hotel. She was super friendly to the kids and my daughter always wanted to make sure she said Hi to Jennifer every time we went through the lobby. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice for breakfast, twice for lunch and once for dinner. Lorraine was our server for every meal and was also friendly and helpful with the menu items even with a packed restaurant. It was great that the kids ate free and the rest of the menu was reasonably priced. The only not good thing I had to say about the restaurant is they were out of lot of the food items we wanted. The bar was also sparsely stocked and we often had to go with our "third choice." The seating was pretty limited in the lobby also so we couldn't utilize it much. The pool was great; one of the best indoors pools I've seen. Definitely look forward to staying there again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by UnhappywithNJ Not a good palce to stay as far as Holiday Inn chain goes
The room was comparable to other Holiday inn rooms but it had issues
1. Shower head leaked outside of the tub all over the floor
2. ADA room had No counters at all for toiletries
3.Smoke detector battery died at 4 am so it beeped every minute there after
4. internet was the worst I have ever experieinced in any hotel
I do not normally post either positive or negative but this place and the next one I stayed at were the worst Hoilday Inns I have stayed at (from Coast to Coast including Canada)

UNFORTUNATELY, we are some of the people affected by the hurricane Sandy.
FORTUNATELY, we picked and were able to get rooms at the Holiday Inn Toms River.
Having a medical problem precluded my going to our house for all the work and meetings with adjusters, inspectors and contractors. My family was able to do these things and it gave me a chance to see all of the helpfulness, kindnesses and niceties that go on at your property on a daily basis.
I can start with the greeting by Jennifer at check-in. I was made to feel at home immediately. Not only at check-in but anytime, day or night, she had the same friendly hello, the same smiling face and the question "Is there anything I can do for you..."
With all the people staying there as a result of Sandy, it had to be very trying on everyone. This is true for those working at the front desk, working in the lounge/restaurant, those making sure you had everything needed for a clean, comfortable room and for the busy maintenance personnel.. They all did their jobs and, apparently, were happy to be doing it.
Having been in service industries for many years, we can say that we were happy to have been your GUESTS. Our ratings should speak for themselves in the areas I am sure you are interested in.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ScottK2012 Not a pleasant experience
This is a franchise hotel. No amenities to priority club members. No upgrade, no bottle of water, no paper delivered, nothing. I am a platinum member and was treated like any joe blow off the street. I am handicapped and was sent to a room at the far reaches of the hotel, very long walk. The hotel restaurant only had a buffet, you couldn't order off the menu. It is a very old building, not enough outlets in the room. It was a tube TV. Room was not in very good condition. I will never stay there again. These franchise hotels have to learn to treat members better. I will ask from now on if they are franchise hotels and if they are, I won't stay there. Overall bad experience.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Im4tide Didn't feel the Platinum love
I travel frequently on business and select Holiday Inn's whenever possible because I love the Priority Rewards program and generally the hotels are consistent. As a Platinum Rewards member ( prior to it being awarded for having a credit card) I must say I have been spoiled at the perks .
When checking in at Tom's River at 4:45 pm , I was particulary suprised to find that my room was not ready ( nor was my travelling companions). I had the option of a smoking room or a wait. There wasn't really an apology or a time frame. The manager finally came out to deal with another customers "service" issue and told the associate how to switch rooms around to get us in. I got no acknowledgments of my priority status, not drinks, coupons or even "Thanks for the loyalty". Without breakfats coupons staying at a Holiday Inn and not a Holiday Inn express makes no fiscal sense . I won't be slecting this particular hotel again, if I canm't be assured of a room by 4:45 pm.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ktpc2005 Ok, Not Great
We have stayed at this property many times before with good experiences but this time was not as great.
The issues that we had were:
1) Check-In- The front desk worker was cold and not welcoming. She did not say more than can I have a credit card or here are your keys. It felt like she was just going through the motions and did not explain anything about the hotel. She did not recognize my Platinum Status or was the first time in about 3 years of staying at Holiday Inn that I did not get a welcome gift.
I learned that they were still offering the free breakfast when I went down to the restaurant in the morning.
2)Housekeeping: 2 Days we were there, we were not given new towels and I had to go to the front desk to get towels. I was told it would not happen again and it did for a second day.
3)HVAC: Everytime the HVAC went on it sounded like a jetliner was taking off. We had to turn it off at night as it would wake us up each time it went on. I contacted the front desk about it but nothing was done.
4) Paper Thin Walls: I could hear everything going on in the room going on in the room next to us and the hallway on the other side.
The good:
The rooms were recently renovated with new furniture and bathroom sink. The bathtub was still in rough shape.
The free breakfast for Platinum and Golds was very nice with a good selection of items.
In the end, this stay will cause us to possibly look for another options when we visit our family in the area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smif0809 A Room after the Storm
My husband and I come up to New Jersey during December to visit our grand-babies. We had 2 reservations fall through after Sandy hit the east coast. I searched all around the area for a room - after finding the one at Holiday Inn in Toms River, we were so glad to have someplace to stay. Although we have had a lot of health issues and other financial obligations, the price of Holiday Inn was over double what we had budgeted - but we were glad to be able to continue on with our visit. Seeing the hotel booked the whole time we were there made me even more appreciative to have found a clean, comfortable room. THEN - seeing Salvation Army, FEMA, and Restoration Crews there throughout our stay made me feel so blessed to see people who were helping out family, friends, and even strangers - we took advantage of the indoor pool, breakfast buffet, and the wonderful room we had. So many people were so helpful and gracious - from front desk to cleaning crew. Thank you for taking pride in your business.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by d4ce97 DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!
After Hurricane Sandy hit surrounding areas, I wasnt sure how peaceful and quiet this hotel would be due to the fact that so many people were displaced from there homes and having to find shelter wherever they could. This hotel is the nearest to Seaside Heights.
I came to Toms River New Jersey from Daytona Beach Florida for Thanksgiving vacation. Went into NYC for Thanksgiving.
I have to say, this hotel is very clean, quiet, and the staff are very pleasant. The resaurant and bar downstairs have a very nice ambiance and the staff in there are also very pleasant.
I would reccomend this hotel and trust me, my friends and family call me Booshee ( very very picky and expect the very best).
Dont hesitate when it comes to this hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GerryP Very comfortable
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is great. One staff member that I can't say enough good things about is jennifer at the front desk. She is so pleasant and helpful considering the conditions in NJ after Hurricane Sandy. The hotel is filled with families whose homes were damaged or destroyed due to the hurricane. It is a very sad situation for many people. I believe Jennifer's home was also damaged but she has her happy face on everytime I see her, greets everyone by name and with a smile. She is truly someone who turns lemons into lemonade. I hope the hotel appreciates what a great employee they have in Jennifer.

I did not like this hotel at all. It was dirty. The carpet was stained. The bathroom was not clean. We reserved a non-smoking room but did not receive one. All my clothes smelled like cigarettes. It was disgusting!! Will never stay there again. Apparently you know how to take the reservation but failed to hold it!! What is the point of a reservation if you don't get what you asked for. Very disappointing!!!!
