Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and a clean room, but avoid the diner if you can The staff were friendly and pretty accomodating when I requested an early check in so this I was pleased with. The room was clean but the bathroom could use some updating as that clearly has not been done for many many years. a few things: I would never ever recommend going to the pub restaurant on site, the breakfast was disgusting, clearly prepared hours before and kept on a heat tray, the service was not good either. The great thing about the location of this hotel is that it is in walking distance to so many restaurants you really shouldn't have to ever eat there, (Tim Hortons was about a block away). The hotel also charges ten dollars a day for fridge rental which I didnt think was good as it was the first time I have ever been charged for such a service, I am not sure what the hotel description says regarding fridges. In any case, if you're just going to Toronto to see some sights, on business or take in a show / shopping and not spending a lot of time in your room, this place works. January 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to miss As we walked to the elevator on the 12th floor I was saying to my husband how clean the hotel was. Then I saw the grill of the ventilation system. Oops!. Easy to miss Please remind your staff that all of us breathe the air that passes through that grill. Thanks January 16, 2013

It is also within walking distance of various shops and museums. I arrived early but the friendly staff checked me in quickly. Will be back again. January 10, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, very friendly and helpful staff The location and quality of this Holiday Inn were perfect for my stay in Toronto. I arrived on the train (Union Station), took the subway to the hotel, and left the next morning on the subway to go to the airport. The map given to me by the very friendly counter staff was very helpful; there are plenty of options for local food and drink. The room was clean. I will return here for future layovers in Toronto. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to great shopping in Yorkville, 2 minute walk to the ROM, University of Toronto and easy access to downtown via the subway. Stayed there several times, and will return again - the best location near Yorkville, and very affordable. December 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient to University and Subway We combined a visit with our Granddaughter who attends U of T and lives close by with an Aerosmith concert at the AC Center. The location was ideal for meeting up with our Granddaughter, subway access and the shopping on Bloor is within walking distance and excellent. The hotel provided excellent value and service from prompt check-in to the quality of the room. We were extremely pleased and will use this hotel again. December 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable beds, cheerful and attentive staff We had 8 family members in town for a funeral over a four day period and stayed in four rooms - young children, parents and grandparents all together. Overall, the service and responses to our special needs were excellent. The issues that popped up were dealt with quickly and respectfully. A different room? a fridge in the room? an error on the bill? extra towels? - no problem, quickly fixed. The manager and staff looked after everything promptly and cheerfully. High quality service, good beds and great location - we'd book here anytime. November 29, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, not a great hotel I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews, but my experience at this Holiday Inn was really sub-standard. When I arrived, I was initially assigned to a room without WiFi. When I inquired about WiFi I was switched to another room -- however, I opened the door, and someone was already staying there! As consolation, I was offered free local calls (how does that benefit me if I am visiting from the US with no one to call in Canada?) and early checkout. The bathroom seemed very old and unkempt. The shower made a terrible high pitched squeaking noise whenever it was in use, and although a sign requested that guests reuse towels, there was nowhere to hang them. On multiple days I was not given additional shampoo/conditioner. I had to call to the front desk to request some. Most of the time, I was simply given an excess amount of body lotion. The only redeeming quality of the hotel is it's location on Bloor street - convenient walking distance from my office. Otherwise, I would not recommend staying here. November 24, 2012

The rooms (ours was a two double bed) are large enough and well appointed. Like most hotel rooms, this one has insufficient lighting for reading,, etc. Generally, this hotel is excellent value for money. November 23, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room in poor condition The following was reported to the night manager about 10:00 PM on Saturday November 10, 2012. When we returned to our room on Saturday afternoon it looked like the chamber person had been interrupted in her work and had not returned. There was a white synthetic short sleeved blouse-like garment (Holiday Inn label) on the floor. The coffee cups had not been replaced and the decaf coffee packages we used were replaced with regular coffee. The plastic cups in the bathroom, plus the toiletries were not replaced but the towels that we hung up to use again, were replaced. The previous day, on our arrival we found a U.S. nickel on the carpet and a Philippine coin in a drawer. There were no shower caps in the bathroom. I must say that the front desk staff, the manager, and the people who replaced the missing items were polite and courteous at all times, and apologized for our inconveniences. In all other respects our stay was satisfactory as were the many many stays we have had in this building. November 17, 2012

This is definitely a high traffic hotel and is bound to have wear and tear and its expected. It is obvious that this place is adored. by many. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly especially the cleaners. My stay last for a long time and they made it enjoyable. November 9, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Experience Great service, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bedding/pillows, well located in downtown area, easy access to many restaurants, activities, etc. Excellent price and value. Only downside: a/c had been switched off for the fall/winter season and unseasonably warm/cool weather resulted in rooms having uncomfortable temperature--fans were made available however. Would recommend this to anyone looking for good value, services, and location. We were all quite pleased overall. November 2, 2012

Consequently the sleep was terrible. The amenities/extras for Platinum membership was essentially a bottle of water. Overall it was a fairly mediocre experience. November 2, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy and good location We made a last minute reservation for this property and were pleased with our choice. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The only difficulty was with parking. There is an indoor parking garage, and because of our over height vehicle ( 6' 8") ,I enquired specifically at the time of reservation about height restriction . I was assured that there was outdoor parking associated with the hotel. This is NOT true. The front desk sent us next door to an outdoor lot that does NOT allow parking on Sunday ( and yes we arrived on Sunday). They were not helpful in finding any solution for parking. It took 1 hour of driving around to finally find a lot. October 14, 2012
