The communication was delivered on a very comfortable level and when there was a small lapse of service level it was corrected swiftly and to my delight. Can't say enough about the people. The right decision, it helped make our 4 day stay an excellent experience. The staff was very helpful in helping us get booked quickly when we decided to change after our first nights stay elsewhere. We were able to check in that morning. The view of the Townsville downtown and bay area from our room was fantastic. The hotel is well located near restaurants and downtown activities. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall stay excellent. My wife and I were impressed with the staff and complex. Our needs were fullfilled so easily. We were very disappointed that the restaurant was not open during our stay other than for breakfast. We understand that the same number of staff available could have operated the restaurant as well as their respective duties and that food staff were operating as usual (for bar and room service meals) so it would not have involved any more expense. We would like to compliment Atlanta (front desk staff) and Jane (bar staff) for their bright and bubbly attitudes during our stay. They are certainly an asset to your organisation. A special thankyou to Michelle (Guest Services Manager) who called at our room for her special greeting for our stay. We felt from the whole experience that we were a part of the family. Thank you. We had an excellent start to our summery holidays with the stay at Townsville Holiday Inn, because of our stay here we ended up staying in Holiday Inn Cairns for lot longer. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Holiday Inn Luxury. After a 5hr drive from Cairns on the way to the Gold Coast we stayed at The Holiday Inn in Townsville for an overnight stay. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. being centrally located we were able to walk straight outside of the lobby into the shopping mall. We will most definitely stay there again. Highly recommended. January 5, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Security just a little thing although on the whole I enjoyed the stay the security cards seemed to be needed every time I turned around. in previous stays in other hotels once I am in the lift apart from my room I can relax but here I had to use the card to get into the swimming area then out of then to get on the lift. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great family rooms We have stayed here several times. The staff are always helpful. Even though we were across from the lifts on our last stay it was still very quiet. Anytime anything has needed attention it has been fixed straight away that day, (leaking showerhead). They have a great buffet breakfast every morning. The king family rooms have a microwave which can be handy when travelling with kids. January 2, 2014

They were upgraded to a King Suite on the top floor and couldn't thank me enough when they saw the room. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay and could not fault anything. Highly recommended. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A view to remember Being an iconic building of Townsville I was uncertain of the shape it would be in however the location, in the heart of the city, was too good to knock back. I was not disappointed. We were situated on the 13th floor, with the modern comforts one would hope. The room was great and the view was fantastic. The balcony captured panoramic views from Castle Hill, Magnetic Island to the Wharf. The staff were friendly and very welcoming and next time we'll stay in to try out the food. Having real coffee within the hotel was another bonus! Thanks for a positive memorable stay. November 20, 2013

The room service food was limited in its range and MUST be improved! I had difficulty with the air conditioning and would wake up in a sweat in the early hours of the morning with the temperature at 25 degrees, after setting it to 20?????? November 19, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bed and room good, however cannot say the same for the resturant I have been a Priority Club member for close to 30 years (signed up when it was first introduced, have been a platinum member for the past years, and I have stayed at this property a few times. Perhaps I was spoiled on my earlier visits with a little note in my room and some nibblies, and therefore overlooked things. The last two times at this property I encountered some things that have me seriously considering staying elsewhere. The restaurant dishes are not what I would consider clean; in fact, they are dirty, and broken. Every plate that I took from the stack felt like it was sticky on the bottom, if the bottom is sticky and dirty what would make me think that the eating surface was any different? The plate I finally selected and placed my food upon I later found to have a crack about 3" long on it. I advised the staff in the dining area when I was leaving in hopes that they would dispose of the plate accordingly. I mentioned this to the front desk clerk when I checked out, along with the fact that the spoons for stirring my coffee were non-existent in the room. The front desk clerk offered to take some of the charges off my bill in compensation, which I declined. I am back at this property again this week, and alas, the first dish I picked up again this morning was sticky. Lesson: Nothing apparently was done with the feedback left at the front desk and I will be staying at another property on my next trip to Townsville. Sad, as a long time club member and loyal HI customer, but under the circumstances I am sure you will or would do the same. November 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible parking issues One of the reasons why we have stayed with the Holiday Inn was their great value, but not any more. If you don't want the risk of your car being damaged as it is left on the street, you have to pay in excess of $23 per night, for your car to be parked under cover some where else. So what was a good deal, now is not. Also, the later breakfast times on weekends meant that we could not use this payed for service, on the first morning. A waste of our money. Also, what was a highlight of our stay, and the reason we chose to stay at HI, the breakfast, is now greatly diminished in variety and taste. The scrambled eggs were disgusting and the eggs benedict tasteless. Needless to say, I don't think we will be staying with HI again. I will add the room service food and value was great.
