This hotel was a great place to stay right in the centre of Townsville we did not use our car until the party that we came up for was on. Because we walked everywhere it was a bit on the hot side walking but the wind made up for it. Townsville is a very lovely and pretty place to stay. Got great views of the surroundings of Townsville Best few nights sleep I have ever had thanks to those lovely beds! But during our stay our child's car seat cover got ripped by the washing machine, was told that when the manger gets on she will call. We are still waiting on that call. That is the reason why the staff and service is rated poor. And the value is not excellent because we where quote one price for our room but when it came to billing after we got home it was more then the quote from their website.

Room, staff and overall experience were good. I will stay here again, however I would caution that the cost of breakfast is actually cheaper if you pay as you go rather than pre-pay.

Good Location for travelling to sport or being in the centre of town and visiting Cowboys Club and markets in morning.
Roof top views and pool was great.
Enjoyable breakfast but like most buffet breakfast hot food never really served hot.
Air con didn't work properly and fridge not on and also not working when we got back to room (even after Duty Manager checked it out) which ruined our food for return journey and drinks obviously weren't cold. On informing reception at check out time because we had prepaid, the Receptionist showed major 'lack of interest'
Toilet seat not on properly.
Bed was super comfortable, room was spacious and clean and views to Magnetic Island was great.
Overall enjoyable but frustrating because of the issues which you would think would be addressed prior to usage of the room.

The Holiday Inn, Flinders Mall was a great place due to the locality. Close to shops, restaurants and taxis. The restaurant in the hotel offers a great buffet breakfast and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Just want to tell people that if you want a comfortable stay whilst in Townsville then go to the Holiday Inn. Staff are excellent always willing to help and with a smile also.

This hotel is in a very good location, close to many attractions. The room was very clean. Only I wanted to have a rest before going out that evening. There was a Hotel about a block away with very load music. So I didn't get my rest. The man at reception, said it only goes to 11pm. Lucky when we did get back it was quiet. The other thing, was there was no top sheet on our bed, only a doona, it was too hot for a doona & too cold without a sheet. Apart from that the room was perfect. I'd stay there again, only next time I'd like a river facing room at the back.

Stayed on the Saturday night in town for my husband's 60th Birthday Party. The staff were extremely helpful and even gave us an early 12 noon check-in time. A full buffet breakfast was included in our accommodation cost and was very good. The only drawback is parking. There is a small drop off area in front of the hotel, but everyone else was parked there (apparently it is not policed on weekends), so we had to park some distance from the hotel to transport our luggage.

Stayed at holiday inn Townsville on nye and asked to be booked in to their Shiraz restaurant when we booked. No body at the hotel bothered to tell us it was no longer Shiraz restaurant , rather it is now a very much third class cafe. No French dishes on the menu (except some frozen French fries). There were however a couple of Indian dishes ! Very few choices on the menu , and what there were, was of a very low standard. the biggest disappointment on the menu was the salmon on wasabi mash. The mash turned out to be uncannily similar to woolworths ready made mash with garlic! No wasabi at all! The next disappointment was after dinner, when we moved to the bar (advertised on their website as a cocktail bar)for a cocktail or two. When I asked for the cocktail list the girl behind the bar laughed, saying , we don't make cocktails here . Go somewhere else .This so called restaurant should be renamed FAWLTY TOWERS DINER. The next morning, went for breakfast, and surprise surprise, our room was not on the list, even though we booked and paid for a room with breakfast included! Fawlty towers strikes again. Then to top it all off, while trying to make the most of a bad thing , and eat my breakfast , I was approached by a junior sub manager who came across as the female version of Basil Fawlty who started off trying to offer me a free breakfast,( the breakfasts we had already paid for) and when that failed she tried to shout me down, telling me how many compliments she had received for closing the restaurant and opening a cafe in its place. She seemed to think that raising her voice would embarrass me into silence. Wrong again! Would have to be the worst hotel in the IHG hotel chain in Australia. This experience has made me question the possibility of renewing my membership in February . If other IHG hotels fall to the standard of this one , it might be time to change.

The rooms was spacious and had every comfort ... the bed and pillows where the most comfortable I have stayed in while away ... not often you can fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow
The room service was great and always open and the staff where happy to assist me
If your in Townsville it would be hard to find any better place to spend a few nights ... I was there for a total of 7 nights and my stay couldn't have been much better

Bar area needs a good spring clean. Lounge table tops sticky, lounge are dowdey and uninspiring. Suggest some extra light options for people who wish to sit have a beer and read (newspaper etc). Add another option to menu other than steak or fish.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Townsville. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The bed was very comfortable, the room layout was good and the food excellent.
I would recommend the Holiday Inn Townsville to anyone. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

The Holiday Inn is a great place to stay very central to everything most places are walking distance away,the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in.all the staff are very considerate and polite great place would recomend again.

The mattress had a very bid dip in the middle so for two people to sleep in was not very comfortable. we booked for three people but they only gave us two towels and when I rang up and asked for another one they weren't very helpful, they made out like it was our fault they didn't give us enough towels.

The Holiday Inn Townsville is my hotel of choice. It provides me with all my business travel requirements. I would have no issues recommending it to anyone staying in Townsville. Its location is convenient and staff are friendly, helpful and professional.

All staff including reception, dining room, room service and domestic were all very curtious and very help helpful. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would recommend the Holiday Inn to any visitors and would stay there again.

Even though we live in Townsville, when my husband and I would like a night 'away' without traveling too far we always choose the Holiday Inn for those times and often for special occasions. We recently stayed as a treat for my husbands birthday as we know we are always going to have a lovely clean, comfortable room, great service, fabulously amazing breakfast, and be a short walk away from wonderful restaurants.
We can't say enough about the great service Ad always looks forward to our next visit.
