Firstly the positives:
- The hotel is in a quite street next to the Main Train Station and close to the centre of the city
-.....................That's about it.
Holiday Inn have spent a lot of time trying to modernise their image and their hotels but this one has not been touched, since the 80's it seems.
The room was large enough but very dark and several lights didn't work. The 'Air Conditioning' was either a lie, or it was the button missing from the bed side console?? Most of the other button also didn't work. There were dirty marks on the walls.
The TV didn't work - it turned it's self off after a couple of minutes and made a clicking noise all night long until I had to find the cable and pull it out the wall to kill the power.
The bedding was old style blankets rather than a modern quilt.
The bathroom was old and worn. The paint was peeling from the ceiling, the floor tiles were cracked and there was mould all around round the bath.
Finding a plug was difficult (there was only one hidden behind the door which was accessible) but they don't have normal European plug sockets! There is a note in the room which states only hair-dryers and shavers can be plugged in in the room...........probably mobile phones, laptops, cameras and tablets were not invented last time this hotel was modernised by HI.

Really loved this hotel, one of the most enjoyable ones I have had whist staying in Hiliday Inns hotels. Don't get me wrong, am in no way having a go at other hotels within the group, but this one had IT!
Jacuzzi in the bath, quiet, comfortable room, just round the corner from the main rail station, and airport, ideal for a few days away

We were in Torino overnight on our way to Milan after 10 days in the snow so this hotel provided an excellent location . It was 100 metres or so from the main train station where we caught the fast train the next day.
We felt that the hotel really needed better management. The first room that we were shown to had a broken shower with water that went everywhere. Usually a hotel would just move you, but in this case, a non English speaking, housekeeping lady was sent to quiz me about the problem who after some time agreed that the shower was a problem and 'agreed' to move us. All this took time and was very tiring for people who had been traveling all day and just wanted a shower and bed. The next room, over the hall was fine.
My other issue with this hotel was that we had booked using IHG Rewards club points, which we had amassed after being very loyal to the IHG chain over the years and we felt that we were treated like we were being given something for nothing. There was none of the usual Thank you for being a IHG club member, a free drink, free upgrade, etc, etc.
