Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff! Home Away from Home My two children and I had to get a room at last minute and they did what they needed to get us in a room. The staff was extremely caring and helpful. We had no toiletry items so we were given toothbrushes and toothpaste. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was perfect! From having some troublesome time in our life they put a smile on our faces when I didn't think anyone could. I would recommend this hotel any day to anyone! October 4, 2014

This location is excellent ... walking distance to Chuy's (great Tex-Mex food) and Panera Bread. Convenient to shopping, too! We will choose this location for all future Tyler trips. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Race Weekend We have stayed at this hotel previously and the staff is always fantastic, but on our last stay the room next to us decided to throw a party and had us up until 3:30 in the morning and we had to be up and out at 6:00 so needless to say we did not get much sleep, we made several calls to the front desk about it, and she called the room and requested that they keep the noise down but this only worked for about 30 minutes and then it would ramp back up. The hotel was not fully booked as the parking lot was practically empty so I was wondering why they would group the rooms together like this. September 18, 2014

Tyler is a small town but when you walk into this property you feel like you are in a big city. There is remodeling going on but what i can see so far, it will look fantastic. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dirty &stained carpet in hallways and dirty doors to entrances. the only problem i had was carpet in hallways and doors to back entrances were filthy,carpet down hallways had not been vaccumed from our arrival time of 12 45 pm to after football game when we got back to the hotel 7pm,they were still dirty,they need to be steamed to get stains out of carpet, everything else was good. I had trouble with the room key the first time I tried to enter my room. The desk did do a great job handling the problem thou, walking me back to my room with the new key and opening the door for me. Also, the automatic check out was not working. No one was available to deliver the copies to the rooms. August 25, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Customer Service! Very professional staff and you can tell a lot of work has been put into the remodeling of the hotel. Smaller rooms but very clean. Pool is very small (pictures are stretched!) but the pool area is very nice and large. Only gave 4 stars on the quality of sleep because of the small beds and room. My wife and I shared a bed and our 2 kids shared the other. Queen beds would of been better than two full beds. August 22, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel I would definitely stay at this hotel again. You can't beat a pet fee of only $50 for an entire 5 night stay, especially in Tyler. Most of the pet friendly hotels in Tyler will sacrifice quality for a cheaper pet fee - Holiday Inn is not that case. Hotel was clean, bedroom and bathroom were clean, and breakfast was better than most. You have more options for breakfast than the average hotel breakfast. The bed and pillows were comfortable, but the temperature was hard to maintain in the room. I was either hot or cold, and it fluctuated during the night which made my sleep a little broken up between trips to the thermostat.. However, staff was very nice, and many employees greeted my dog and I (can't stand hotels that are "pet friendly", yet everyone acts like they've never seen a dog before). I needed a 3 pm checkout since my dog would have to remain in the room while I was at work, and the earliest I could get out was 3 pm. At first, they didn't want to grant my request and said the latest they would give me is 2 pm, but eventually they granted me a 3 pm checkout. I know that put them in a little bit of a tough spot with cleaning a pet friendly room in only a couple of hours before housekeepers left, but it just shows that they are really willing to work with you. Primarily three reasons.... 1) Bath towels had public hair on them...gross! 2) Guest room stink of cigarette smoke. 3) It was super noisy at 4am to the point, it was unbearable to sleep. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast was the best part of this trip This hotel was one of the few that I would go back to or recommend. The rooms were hot no matter how much you regulated the A/C temperature it just wouldn't move and stayed hot. It seemed like every place in this hotel was hot. Fitness Center was hot and a leak on the roof with water dropping down onto the equipment power lines, safety hazard? I am not sure. Even the breakfast area was so hot one morning that my family rushed to eat so that we could leave because we were sweating so bad in there. Pool area was nice but would have been better if somebody would actually go out there and clean it. No fun swimming or playing in there when you constantly have dirt/leaves or even hair on your hands! yuck All in all for the type of hotel and price I would have expected more. July 17, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by disappointments we were disappointed with: 1. The "senior sweetheart" plan referred to an "upgrade" but I did not understand what the upgrade was. Asked but no answer was given. The room was a king size bed but no other obvious upgrades. 2. the view--looking out the window we saw a wall opposite the bar area and looking down was the bar. not a romantic scene. 3. the room was evidently located next to the housekeeping room, they began making noise early in the morning. seemed to not care about the noise level of the comfort of the patrons. 4. the commode was too low to the floor and the seat was totally uncomfortable--cheap plastic. if this is a "senior sweetheart" upgrade, why not put those patrons in a room with a commode that sits higher. 5. pool was lousy and needed a Jacuzzi out by the pool July 10, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous Staff We were a little crabby after our flight was canceled due to bad weather. However, Liz made us immediately feel better as she served as our substitute shuttle driver. What a nice lady! Joyce in the hospitality room was another peach. Dennis the shuttle driver was also kind and entertaining. Holiday Inn should be proud of these good will ambassadors. They would be an asset to any five star hotel staff. July 4, 2014
