I will start with the positives:
Our family came to Vail to meet up with friends from Chicago for skiing and the Super Bowl, Go Broncos! We were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded even though we were using our Chase free night. Sadly, our fireplace did not work. The front desk staff, as well as the cleaning crew were very polite. The beds were very comfortable and we experienced less hallway noise than other Holiday Inns that we have stayed at in the past.
The only negative is the mandatory Valet parking and the rude Valet's. Perhaps they are disgruntled because they are in a job that people resent. I spoke with numerous hotel guests that were very unhappy with the valet being required, and $25 per night! This is on top of the $25 fee to park at Vail!!! The hotel does offer a shuttle, but many don't want to deal with that with a large family and a lot of gear. You have to call down every time you want your car, so for a family that likes to come and go frequently, this can become quite tedious and costly if you opt to tip

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jodiskier Easy access, close to everything.
We stayed here for a ski trip. The hotel is close to several restaurants and a Safeway. The shuttle makes it very easy to get to and from the slopes as well as Vail Village and Lionshead.
The hotel is clean and modern. The beds are comfortable and there was no complaints about the room whatsoever.
The staff is friendly and accommodating.
The only complaint I have is the excess parking fee for daily Valet service. Parking is right outside the door of the hotel and you must have valet parking. Why not just charge daily for parking and eliminate the whole valet thing. They move the vehicle 20 ft? It seems like a reason to add on another charge.

Shuttle every 30 minutes to Lionshead and Vail Transit center is convenient. Facilities and service better than most Holiday Inns.

This drab property functions well as a place to sleep while skiing at Vail. The $25 for parking at the hotel is the same as the cost at Vail so no convenience offered there and best to find a better property to stay at and commute to Vail yourself.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jr8633 My 2 cents - new management in charge
4 days ago new management team took over. Ihg allows hotels to exclude rooms from the upgrade inventory.
Also no help from ihg headquarters..... Maybe an other reason to focus on my other two hotel brands this year.
Pro: Good bed / mattress
Good transfer to ski lift
No resort fee
no more room upgrade above executive room ,
No elite Benefit besides the welcome benefit if you book a executive room...... Hotel management likes now to keep the best rooms empty compared with the years before ....
Mandatory valet parking
Older hotel , in good location but noice from other rooms can be loud
Talk to us if we don't get a 10 => did not get a call back from the new management- in the morning management was not available
In my opinion this hotel is overpriced even for Vail.
I have 4 open reservations for this month with this hotel after those I will redress my brand loyalty @ this location....
