We had a small, queen bed room.with a very nice balconey and gorgeous views..which was very comfortable...It would have been even better to have had a little refrigerator and microwave...the room was spacious enough to have accommodated it (room 426) ..It could have also accommodated a small rocker recliner in addition to the executive desk chair. I just pulled in a balconey chair so that my husband and I could both have a comfortable place to sit while watching TV.
thanks..

We stayed in a 2 queen condo at Vail. The value at Vail was outstanding. The staff was very helpful and very responsive. The manager was extremely friendly and gave us a free upgrade. We certainly enjoyed daily maid service that is no typical in a condo.
On the downside, the condo was drab (ALL brown), plastic flowers?, outdated furnishing, and a poorly poorly equipped kitchen. We had to buy a can opener :( and broiler pan. No crock pot . No hot pads, No large cooking pot. No scissors. Only 2 wine glasses. Basic kitchen items in a ski condo were missing. The walls were very very thin, the beds were hard. But plenty of hot water and very clean!
The shuttle service to the slopes was very convenient with friendly and helpful drivers BUT NEED MORE RUNS between 8-9 and 3-4. Having to wait 25 minutes at 4 PM, sitting and watching other condo vans come 2 and 3Xs while waiting and waiting for Holiday Inn got really old. And when the van finally came, it was over crowded.
Amenities; the hot tub was frequently too hot, the steam room was broken, the treadmill was broken, but the staff responded quickly to resolve the issues.
Overall, seems like the staff was trying very hard to make up for a dated hotel. Seems like Holiday Inn needs to do some major renovations and this would be a top notch hotel

This is our 3rd year going to this hotel for a long ski weekend. We've found the rooms and common areas to be clean and spacious. Our room was nicely re-stocked every day. The ski shuttle was always on time every half hour. There were always clean towels in the jacuzzi and coffee in the lobby. A great cost effective balance between cost and uxury.

I have stayed at the Vail Holiday Inn several times primarily because I'm an executive platinum member with Priority club and can use points to book rooms( Executive Platinum is the top level of loyalty). That being said, I have never been upgraded to a better room for my loyalty which actually happens often around the country. My last visit was MLK weekend 2013. We were supposed to have a king executive room which should include a pullout couch. Annoying that there was no couch. Also had several piles of dog doo on the balcony which speaks for itself(Room 402). The Sauna didn't work either due to no steam. The fitness room was subpar since most of the machines were broken or had issues. The best part of this hotel is the free shuttle to vail village and the neighboring bars. I heard this hotel is supposed to remodel at the end of the season so I'm looking forward to that. Definitely not worth the price of admission and wouldn't stay there if I wasn't staying for free with points. My suggestion, stay at the Frisco newly renovated Holiday inn if you want to stick with the brand. Of course if you are just looking for a bed then this Holiday inn is satisfactory since there were no bugs or anything.

I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for the past five years and in one of the Condominiums the past three and have zero cons. The rooms are very adequate and with several restaurants, spa facilities and a ski shop where one get a 30% discount, everything is there. If you choose to leave the premises, the shuttle runs from the front door (no walking) every thirty (30) minutes to Lionshead and the Village. McDonalds is next door and then a mall with pubs and a liquor store next to that and there's a Safeway next to that - 5 minutes walking which is great as I fly into Vail. The staff is very accommodating from the front desk to housekeeping. You don't even need to wash your dishes as the housekeepers fill and run the dishwasher each day. The full size outdoor pool makes a ski trip all the better, especially when it's snowing. I always get a great deal and I will continue to stay there with my family.

As per earlier reviewers, found the two front desk staffers unfriendly. Not a good first impression of this hotel. Hotel desparately needs a makeover. Really, the lower rates are the only draw.
