Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Directions are important First trip to Vancouver. The hotel is reasonably comfortable and well located. It's the first time in a long while, as a Platinum member, that I have had to wait for a room until 3pm! This really made it not a desirable hotel for my 36 hour stopover in Vancouver. The staff really weren't friendly and it seemed to be an effort to get help. The biggest problem was that they seemed incapable of giving directions. Every time I asked for help they sent me on a wild, goose chase. I simply wanted to buy a bottle of wine and having walked for a kilometre or 2 found the staff had pointed me in a direction that was exactly 180 degrees opposite to where I needed to go. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4 nights vacation stay Stayed 4 nights, 4 of us 2 couples, our first visit to Vancouver. Hotel ideally placed for walking everywhere. Welcoming friendly staff. Bar area good after a long day out. Only had one meal in the bar one evening; very good quality. Only downside was breakfast, in short absolute chaos so only had on first morning thereafter at one of the numerous cafe alternatives just outside. We’d definitely stay again. September 21, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great modern room comfortable bed I had a wonderful experience during my stay. The room was very clean and updated. The bathroom was clean and in good condition. The only drawback is the elevator space which is minimal. If there are 3-4 guests with luggage that's all you can fit. There were several times where I had to wait 5-10 minutes to get on an elevator. Other than that I would recommend this hotel to friends, family and business acquaintances. September 15, 2014

We only had a couple of days in Vancouver and the front desk staff was very helpful in recommending places to see based on our time frame. Their suggestions were excellent and the directions were accurate and easy to follow!! We left with a great impression of the city and the people. We hope to return someday to see more of Vancouver. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient locatio Two stays here on a recent trip to Canada. First for three nights to meet fiends in Vancouver. Arrived in the early evening from the airport and everything fine, efficient Reception, room ready, advice on where to eat locally. Next day having spent to whole day in the city we returned at 6 p.m. to find that the room had not been serviced. We did it ourselves after telling the Receptionist. Even next day the room wasn't made up until after 4 p.m. Room faced out onto the street and windows didn't close tightly thus quite a lot of traffic and people noise. Second stay was a week later just for two nights, first arranged by us second night by Rocky Mountaineer. We arrived at about 9 a.m. to deposit suitcases with one already being held for us and asked when the room might be ready. We were told "after 2p.m." We came back at 2.30 - not ready. We tried again at 3.30 - not ready. It was after 4p.m. before we could get in and unpack and use the hotel laundry facilities. Not what we expect for IHG/RCMs Furniture and fittings look tired and the carpets have seen better days. That said, the ice machine worked fine! September 2, 2014

The only problem, and for us it was a big problem because we do working vacations, was the horribly slow Wi-Fi. Even after the outside technician said he fixed our connection, it was still extremely slow. If you don't need wifi, then stay here. If you absolutely need wifi for work, you will be frustrated. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional staff service While we ended up having to sleep four tall adults in two double beds which made sleeping hard, we did enjoy our stay. The staff went out of their way to give us extra bedding and fix a burnt out light. They were very helpful and the restaurant staff made eating there feel like you just came down to hang out, they were very relaxed and accommodating. I recommend you confirm your beds so you don't end up with beds to small to comfortably sleep in as some rooms only have double beds. This may be fine if you are smaller. August 27, 2014
