Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Customer Service When we checked in, our room had a slight problem. I called the front desk and Missy at the front desk offered a room change. She not only gave us a new room, but gave us a service credit since we had a slight issue. The food at the restaurant was pretty good as well. I highly recommend this hotel as it stands by its service and does a good job with its front desk service check-in. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel is neat and clean. Thanks for making our stay an enjoyable one. August 9, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just okay!!!!! The hotel was nice but the staff needs to be retrained in customer service. I was given a dirty room when I checked in and I called for a blow dryer it took them 2 1/2 hours for them to bring it to me. Had to go to dinner with wet hair. August 9, 2013

Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and the carpet had burn marks on it.there wasn't a free breakfast.teenagers in hall due to cheer leading competition. little children in hall in morning with no adult supervision August 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Everything was really great with one exception. Parking is definitely a problem at this location. The whole lot is full and you have to drive around the entire hotel at least once before finding a spot and its usually quite a ways away from the building. Then there is only one set of elevators that go to the top floor and they are in the very front of the hotel. So not only do you have have to walk all the way through the entire parking lot just to get to an entrance you have to walk through the entire hotel just to get to the elevators. Aside from this inconvenience every time I returned to the room, my stay was awesome. Great rooms, comfortable beds, amazing showers, clean, and spectacular services. August 4, 2013

Cons-room wasn't ready when I got there (2:40) and they had NO IDEA when it would be ready. You can either relax by pool or drive 15 minutes to oceanfront for Virginia Beach. It's not far at all and beats paying oceanfront prices! Options to eat inside the hotel are suitable with options on menu...and happy hour prices are very reasonable with a fun bartender to make the time enjoyable! August 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cancelation problem Only thing that was wrong is my family and I booked 3 rooms under my name. However, multiply credit cards was used to hold the rooms. During reservation process the representative did not advise us that they would cancel our rooms prior to arrival if one day room few was not available the day of arrival. However, I called in the day before to provide the updated credit card info for all of my rooms. My additional family member room was canceled because the representative that was provided the updated credit card information did not add the correct expiration information per our bank teller. The hotel did not provide my family with a room, they turned them away because they was over booked. We drove 11 hours to stay at this hotel and they did not provide my family with any accommodation to stay at a chain of hotels in their group. Family was forced to stay at hotels that was not up to our standards. The hotel manager (Robert) advised to contact him the next day and he would see what he can do. However, he could not provide anything given the fact the hotel had rooms available online on 7/27/2013. The hotel manager never contacted me to even provide a discount on another day at their hotel chain as stated during our conversation. Very displeased with the arrangement of the staff and management of this hotel during the reservation process. However, the hotel was nice and pleasant to stay, given the fact my family wasn't their with me the whole night. August 2, 2013

It was annoying driving myself to the beach and back because we had to deal with parking at the beach -- it'd be great if the hotel had a shuttle. Also, breakfast wasn't free and reception was pretty slow. But it was cheaper than most other options around, so it was fine. The lobby area was really nice with lots of couches and a bar. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay Holiday Inn is always my travel stay Hotel. However, I was appointed with this stay. My first assigned room was not comfortable. The air conditioner was not working. We given another room (518 to 525). The bed seemed broken, sunken on one side. The air conditioner was so loud, we had to turn it off just to sleep. We were asked to reuse our towels. Not a problem, but it would be helpful to install a towel bar on the wall behind the bathroom door to hang the towels to dry. Also a towel rack above the toilet or on the wall near the mirror for the towels to dry. Once a towel is used, the customer can only leave them on the tub or top of the toilet. I love Holiday Inn and will always stay at Holiday Inn, but I think just a few changes would make a big difference. July 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Loud I recently stayed at this hotel with my family. I reserved a room with two queen beds and when I checked in I was given a room with one king bed. This was very inconvenient, my family wanted their own beds. I was told that that was all that was available. The room we were given had a window that overlooked the lobby area. Do not stay in a room with these windows. The lobby area echoes and if people are talking very loud, you will be able to hear them in your room. Throughout most of the night, the lobby area was very loud, echoing into my room, making it very difficult to sleep. I could hear people running down the hallway late at night and people were also talking in the hallway next to the elevator and we could hear everything in the room. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night due to how uncomfortable our stay was. When we left people were still loud and we were still able to hear the people in the lobby area. July 18, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth the Price We had stayed at this hotel 2 years ago in a King Suite and enjoyed it so much we decided to spend the money and stay in an equivalent suite again but the results were much different this time. Issues The front desk staff only acknowledged us on the evening check in. Not even a smile...they were too busy visiting with each other or on the indifference on their part. Room Key cards did not work on 4 of our 8 nights and front desk staff replied as if from a script “Sorry for your inconvenience” without any sense of the inconvenience to guests. Air conditioning unit was shut down by housekeeping on 2 days out of 8 after cleaning. We were advised to write a note each day so they would leave it on. We also had to include in the note to leave the draperies closed as we faced the setting sun and the room was very warm when we returned even with the air conditioner working. The air conditioner fan had one speed and that was HIGH...the low and auto setting did not work and it was equivalent to sleeping with a jet blower. Clicking noise every 50 to 60 seconds which sounded like a compressor overheating and restarting(seems to be in the locked utility room adjacent to our restroom) continued all day and night. Coffee pot is in a cupboard unit with absolutely no convenient electrical outlets within 15 feet. Electrical outlet was in back of the sectional making it extremely inconvenient to get to. Wi-Fi capability is basically useless…700kbps…essentially 2-3 times faster than dial-up and only one person could get online. Was essentially unavailable on 5 out of 8 nights for both of us. Microwave had the wrong size rotating plate in it and screeched when it ran. Did they really need to put and 8 day stay in a pool facing room? Loud yelling and hollering until 11pm and after as the pool did not close as scheduled on 2 evenings as posted. (We were on the 6th floor). Bathroom sink faucet drain was broken and the drain could not be closed to fill with water. Light switch on the lamp nearest the night stand next to the windows is broken rendering it useless. Shower had mildewed grout. The maid saw us in the hall on the day before we checked out and asked if tomorrow was the day we checked out and I replied "Yes". Her response was "Well, I guess someone else will get my tip." (Had we not had to tell them in a note each day about the drapes and ac a tip might have been an option but that comment would have sealed the not ask the patron for a tip!) Positive Points The restaurant, bar and coffee shop staff were all friendly and courteous even when having difficulties with register issues. The HDTV was nice and the ability to swivel it to where you were in the suite was a plus. Conclusion Needless to say, having spent the money we did this hotel was not worth it and we will not be staying here again. We were very disappointed. July 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive for a budget hotel we stayed here for one night and most likely won't return. Let's start with the staff. One of the cleaning maids was yelling and banging her hands against the wall- for what I don't know. Second, we went to Ashley's for dinner- I had the sirloin steak( special) and it was cut up roast beef. The picture of it in the elevator was nothing like I was given. Plus for 2 adults( each had 2 beers) and 2 kids meals- it was 90.00- really? This is not fine dining. I will say the waitresses and hostess were extremely nice. Last but not least was the pool. It had a layer of film in the corners- not sure what it was but it was disgusting. Also the hot tub and interior pool were closed. We travel a lot and will re-think a Holiday Inn again July 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay. I stayed at your hotel for five days during the recent Navy Musicians Associate annual get together. The room was clean and neat and the room attendants did a good job of keeping it that way. The bed-a king-was extremely comfortable. The room rate was very reasonable. All the food service venues served excellent food and drinks. I will say that I thought the drinks were over priced. We all appreciated the availability of water and coffee throughout each day. The facility was more than adequate for our needs and the hotel personnel were all very helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool was most inviting. However, I did miss a hot tub/whirlpool and would also miss an in door pool in the colder seasons. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone on vacation or involved with business. Also, the hotel has the facilities and personnel to host small or large groups. July 7, 2013

After the cematay the family had a little reception at the Inn as we would have to check out before it was over I asked the front desk if there would be a place for us to change for our 6 Hr. ride back to NJ. The lady said as you are club member you can keep your room till 2;00 PP and longer if need be.. We thought that was exceptunal!!!!!!!!. June 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel-staff not so much I have been staying at this location for 10 or 12 years, I am reluctant to return and do not think I will recommend this property. I see no priority club recognition. Recently the staffs have been border line rude; as an example on check out I find no one at the desk (it is 5 AM). After waiting 15 minutes a man drives up in a van and looks at me with contempt. He then looks around in the van and slowly enters the hotel and goes behind the desk. Not ever looking at me or speaking. I state I need to check out, stating my name and room number. Still he never acknowledges my being on the planet. After moving over to another area he repeats my room number. After I confirmed the number he lays a receipt on the desk top and walks off, never spoke another word. My last check out was not as bad but still ridiculous in the events. Maybe the staff needs to be briefed on customer relations. June 18, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of personal responsibility on Hotel's part This hotel was hosting the "Blood at the Beach" convention and still decided it was OK to accept a reservation for a 13 and 17 year old girls volleyball team. The security was NON-existent as my 17 year old daughter was being harassed and literally chased by someone dressed as a clown. As a hotel, you have a RESPONSIBILITY to advise your guests when something like this is going on. The volleyball players on these teams were literally TRAPPED in their hotel rooms as they were scared to go out of their room....not that I, as the chaperone, would have considered LETTING them out of their rooms! I stayed here for a convention, considering that this Holiday Inn is equipped for such an event, you would think they would be capable of handling high volume of guests. Room service was over an hour late. Which was surprising since we hung the order on the door, and it was picked up about 3am. Had they notified us, it may have not been a problem. Go to the dinning room to grab a quick cup of coffee and a bagel on the fly, no coffee. There is now a 15 minute wait with more guests adding to increasing coffee line. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The kitchen staff needs to get it together. May 19, 2013
