Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service but high price Working as a non-paid guild performer I have stayed at this hotel many times. Although I need to be able to walk to the park before, during and after a weekend and understanding the economics of the hotel business I think their rates are a bit high for a weekend especially for not being near the center of Visalia. Although they have great service and very comfortable rooms, there is nothing to do outside of the hotel within walking distance except stroll through the park except when a special event is being held there. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as good as previous experience Counter staff at check-in seemed to be preoccupied and/or agitated. Not as friendly as I would have expected. In the morning when we went to the cafe they said that we needed a coupon to partake of the breakfast buffet. I went to the front desk and inquired and was told that I was given a special discount which disqualified me for breakfast coupons. I then checked with another customer who had a breakfast coupon and their rate was $6 less than mine under a AAA discount. The cleaning service personnel were very friendly and efficient. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No HVAC controls in room & coor bar counter service There were not in room controls of the room temperature/air. I was miserably hot all night. There was a wall thermostat, but no handles attached to control it. Looked like they had been cut off on purpose so they could be controlled on one mail system for all rooms. Most of the servers at the bar have a bad attitude and are rude. The older gentlemen and one of the younger blond girls are nice, however, and provide good service. Finally, my room smelled dank and moldy. I was on the bottom floor of the main building on the west side of the indoor pool in a room that has a sliding glass door that opens to the pool. Can't remember my room number. I also don't like that when I call for a reservation, I get transferred to a general reservation line rather than being able to make a reservation with a person at the front desk so I can reserve a specific room or floor.
