Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New, big, clean hotel with friendly service This Holiday Inn is pretty big, and new. The atmosphere and decor is nice in the lobby and in the rooms. It is also conveniently located near the highway. I will definitely be staying here again when visiting my daughter at MCC. May 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Safe Haven As a frequent business traveler it is important to me to find accommodations that will allow me to both relax and help me forget the turmoils and challenges of my day. The last thing I feel I need at the end of any hard day is to be challenged by over-bearing and demanding hotel administration staff; well, HI Waco did provide all the positive stuff I could have wished for and none of the bad. As reported by a trusted Travel Agent (Francine) from my office, a pleasant reservation staffer actually located at the hotel worked with her to find a last-minute sanctuary for her wary co-worker. Even though all the hotels in the entire region were scrambling to house hundreds of my fellow emergency responders, the HI staffer was able to provide food and lodging for the days we required. Check-in was pleasant, quick and seamless. Above all my spot-less room was both quiet and comfortable. The thermostat had been set in advance so that I was not greeted by an A/C unit screaming at me in an attempt to bring the room to a suitable temperature. I found that a restful sleep came quickly. In the morning I jumped out of bed, grabbed the newspaper from the floor beside the door, prepared for the day and then enjoyed a full and hearty meal in the lobby restaurant. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by One bad apple spoils the bunch We stopped by three hours before check in to see if we could get in early because my son had a baseball game at three. When the woman at the front desk didn't even look up at us I figured she was busy so I just stood there in the empty lobby and waited a few minutes. When she finally did acknowledge me I explained the situation and asked if we could check in early. She sighed loudly and said, "I can only do so much at once." I turned and walked out as she yelled after us, "What's your name sir!". We came back two hours later. The same employee asked us to wait in the still empty lobby for our room to be ready. We waited forty minutes at which point our room still wasn't ready so she switched us to one that was. Ironically the next day housekeeping walked in our room at 10:40 without knocking as we were getting ready to check out. I guess the motto is "check ' em in late.... Check 'em out early". Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Arrived early We arrived early, and the desk clerk was not very helpful. Not knowing the area we asked for directions, but she never gave them. We were 3 hours early for check-in, so we just went for a ride. The hotel had been full the night before, so the rooms weren't ready, and I understand that. So when we returned, there was a long line in front of us, and out came the manager. I don't know her name, but she fixed everything. She was very nice. Our room was still not ready, it was about 1:30, so she offered us a room that would be an upgrade. Because we were tired and didn't want to wait any longer, we took it. BUT SHE OFFERED!!! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The suites leave much to be desired I reserved rooms for other people and because your staff billed a person in my party 3x the amount they were supposed to, it caused a big inconvenience because you put a hold on her cr card for 2 days! the front desk lady even went as far to lie to me to my face about the whole situation. she told me one thing and mins later told my sister something totally different. it's not the first time I have stayed here and had to work very hard to get average service. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean, comfortable beds, reasonable price!! Stayed there for 1 night for my son's birthday, loved the room the bed especially was very comfortable. Room was very clean, pool was nice wish they had a shallow end for the younger kids seeing that I have 3 young ones. Also would have given this hotel a 5 star if they had a complimentary breakfast, had to go to Whataburger to get me kids breakfast cause the price is outrageous for one person. Also the room was small (had the 2 queen beds) thought it would be bigger but wasn't. Besides that it was a good stay!! February 1, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Over priced - poor service. We had booked in advance for late arrival. There was only one person on the desk and it took over a half hour to check in as there were other people as well. Internet was very intermittent. None of the tv channels matched the printed schedule. We phoned the desk twice to get HBO. They said they would try. They forgot the first time and couldn't do it the second time. We found out when we got there that because we took the seniors discount that we were not eligible for breakfast unless we paid $15 which coincidently was the seniors discount. Stayed in three hotels of another chain during the rest of our trip to Mexico which were cheaper, as comfortable or more so, and had good healthy choice breakfasts that helped us on our way. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely clean with great service. We stayed at this hotel for 1 week. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful as were all the staff. The rooms were extremely clean. There was a managers reception during the week with free drinks and food which was wonderful and delicious. The pool and sauna were nice. The location is great, very close to many restaurants and about 3 miles into downtown Waco. Would highly recommend and would stay there again. October 16, 2012
