20 EUR for breakfast? and there are no deserts - no, thank you. The restaurant offers great stakes and beers though. Rooms are clean.
Only one person at reception - kind of no use of my platinum status, when there is a long queue. Internet is the worst ever - 20 EUR for two days and in the evenings you can't get any decent connection.
Overall, fix the internet and include breakfast in the room's price and this will be a great hotel.

Hotel rooms are big. . Hotel staff is excellent. Very friendly and very helpful. The steaks in the restaurant are great.
The bad. The internet connection is a disgrace. It cost 19 euro for two days and you get the worst internet connection ever. Of course only when it is available. This is a business hotel and this is not acceptable, because eventually people have to work from their room. It is also not acceptable to pay additionally for internet connection in 2013 when you already paid for your stay.

The hotel, especially the pool and sauna need an update unless you want to feel like in the 70's. Staff was friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was of good quality, but rather expensive. I'm used to find body lotion in the rooms of other Holidy Inns.

Firstly, I've been a platinum member of the IHG for many years now and I tend never to write a review unless i experience a very good or in this case a very negative experience.
Check-in and check-out were inefficient and time consuming, the employee tried to charge me for breakfasts (I had none#, then food receipts #I had none apart from one night of room service#. she was unable to process the bill and had to 'escalate' to her supervisor who did quickly manage to complete the check out. Once payment was received there was no attempt to check if I needed transport or storage of my bags #I had to initiate those questions#
I was injured with a broken arm in a cast & sling but at no time received any offers of help with luggage. I wasn't looking for help as I'm pretty self sufficient but it would have shown care and attention if the staff had reacted to an injured guest.
I've stayed in IHG hotels around the world and was surprized to receive a letter 3 days before checkout demanding that i pay the full amount immediately. It felt insulting and treated me as though i was a potential criminal, other hotels at least ask you at the desk to take a charge or hold the funds and i find that an OK approach, it's certainly better than sending a demanding letter under the door.
Housekeeping, i left towels on the floor to be taken away and was surprised to see the same towels hung-up on the rack, the shampoo/body wash was empty and not replaced for days at a time. Another time I left the empty bottles in the sink #as i couldn't locate the bin# and to my surprize they were repositioned as though they were full bottles on the shelf, they were empty!
The Internet access was a joke, it appears that there are about 10 access accounts for the whole hotel with swisscom and if you come late then you can't access the internet, believe me I tried as did my 5 colleagues who stayed here as well and none of us were able to gain access to the WIFI, even although it was included in our room rates & membership benefits
I have to ask whether this hotel is having cashflow difficulties since everything seems to point to cost savings and reductions.
Room service was prompt and the food decent quality, the staff delivering it was very friendly and professional as were the bar staff.
room & hotel decour is old-fashioned, the board of celebrities who've stayed there is a fascinating timecapsule of 1970's west Germany, unfortunately those people wouldn't notice many changes in the place if they came back #with the exception of the revamped bar#. If you would like to host a 70's theme party then I propose this hotel would be a great setting.
I have informed my team that they should not book this hotel again, instead we will move to other hotels in the area.

I come here often because it's not too far from my office in Heidelberg. It's a decent place though not very exciting. It;s just fine for one or two nights business stay. And always a parking place available in front of the hotel.
