Overall great experience, excluding the food where most holiday inn offer hot food at the bar after 10pm, this one does not and offer cold/basic sandwich/crisps at really high price!!

I arrived at about 7pm on a Monday night to a queue at the check-in desk, which seemed to take an age to get through. I was advised that the restaurant was offering a new menu, but I declined the offer of reserving a table.
They took my Priority Club details but I wasn't offered anything for Platinum status (no upgrade, free drink, Wi-Fi or extra points).
I used the pool and sauna, the changing rooms were very basic and it wasn't east trying to find a dry space to dress in after a shower (even though I was the only one using the facilities).
I went through to the bar at about 9pm to order some food only to be told that they would not be taking any food orders for at least 25 minutes (same for restaurant)... got a drink but then decided to leave the premises to get food.
On night 2 I was earlier into the bar to order food. The lady behind the bar went off to find out how long food orders were, she returned with the same message as the previous night, but would I like to order a drink - no thanks, I want to get some food. So back out into the night to get some food.
If you ever have the misfortune of staying here when food is hard to come by, there is a KFC over yonder M6, or if you venture almost full circle over the M6 and back onto the same side as Holiday Inn, there is a Chiquitos and an Indian restaurant (near a Cinema and perhaps other establishments).

New menu looked good but after waiting nearly 2 hours for one meal what can i say.
Disappointed that PLatinum not recognised upon checkin & no upgreade offered.
used to stay here a lot but not so sure now.

I stay regularly, and feel well valued as a guest. very busy this week, so the atmosphere was great in the evenings.
Jess and Jackie doing a brilliant job, with a great sense of humour coming across the bar.
The best Holiday Inn for miles around, and really good value for money.
The occasional upgrade as a platinum member very welcome, as the exec rooms are great, with a 'mini living room'

Stayed in the exec suite. V spacious and comfortable. Staff friendly, approachable and happy to help. Pool and gym facilities although small are good, clean and tidy. Breakfast was good as was an evening meal.

Stay regularly at this hotel. The only issue is the heating in the exec rooms which have intermittent problems and have to be supplemented with mobile heaters - not ideal and not as easy to regulate the temperature

Whilst a clean, bright new hotel. This hotel offers great conference facilities with rooms and facilities to suit all sizes. Having the room within reach and just 2 minutes from the motorway, it fits the bill.
Only area for further consideration would be the menu which was limited.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, as usual. The pool and sauna were great to relax in and the food was very good. As a business traveller, it was nice to see more effort being made for priority club members and the occasional upgrade is really appreciated. Stayed four days and it was very enjoyable.

The rooms let this place down. Usually cold (despite air con/heater) and the thinnest duvet and smallest bath towels. You get woken up by people getting up at around 6.30am, if you are on business I guess that's not a problem. All in all, an ok alternative the Holiday Inn Express across the road, but it's not better than it.

After a couple of problems on our first stay, the staff did eveything they could to make our second stay better.
Slightly difficult to find off J10 of the M6 because of the roundabout layout, but the welcoming manner of all the staff was refreshing throughout our stays
Food is above normal chain hotel fayre, and the chef's soups are to be recommended.

I was very disappointed that I was lied to about the availability of an upgrade to executive room. I was specifically told at check in that there were no executive rooms available. I later found out that there were rooms but they chose to not upgrade me and lie about the availability. I can accept not being upgraded but the lying is unacceptable.

stayed here as a family booking 2 rooms
This hotel is spotless.
we felt so relaxed and staff couldnt do enough for us
even a free birthday cake for one member of the family.
lady on front desk couldnt do enough
we all enjoyed our 3 course meal as part of the package
the staff our well dressed polite and well mannered
the manager on the day also needs a special mention
he checked all the guests were ok
there was 2 coachs in from a trip from a tv show.
this had no affect on our stay
would we go back ((yesssssssssss)

Coming here since refurbished, staying a couple of times a week. Platinum priority member but continually get given twin rooms instead of double room, even though book double.
Need to learn loyalty to customer base otherwise they will go elsewhere, as they are not the cheapest Holiday Inn in the area.
Very slow service on reception at times.
Food poor most of the time so eat out.
Disappointing that the service experienced in first 6 months of opening has but completely gone now.

Stayed here a few times, and also HI Express across road. This was an awful stay: the rooms have appalling sound insulation. Consequently, was awoken by room underneath chatting away from 1am to 4am. Management were called and apparently went 3 times to shut them up but no avail. They smoked too. And this place charges £13 for wifi! Welcome to 21st century... I'm stayin at the express from now on...

Stayed here on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of January staff were great and service was as expected as in all previous stays in Holiday Inns. We was surprised to find that breakfast was not buffet style as not enough guests staying but this did not reflect in any way how good the food was.
Our only gripe was that there was dog hairs on the bottom of the bed frame which got onto clothing placed on the bed when we were getting changed.
The location of the hotel is ideal for Birmingham / M6 / NEC ect and is well hidden from all roads which leads to only downfall , it could do with better signs of the motorway and roundabout.

We had a fabulous New Year at Holiday Inn in Walsall. Dancing our feet off, staff were fabulous especially when they joined in to let the new year in with us-great fun- gangam style-you know who you are ha ha .
Also enjoyed the pool, in fact we had it all to ourselves :)
Will definitely be booking again

Overall we love this hotel. Its super for families and the swimming pool is perfect. Only bug bear really is the sofabed is very uncomfortable but otherwise the size of the rooms and service is great. A special thanks to the waiters who are always friendly and try to entertain the children. We have stayed a couple of times now and will no doubt visit again.

We visited on 27th. Staff were friendly and could not do enough to help - particularly at reception.
We arrived late and left after just being in time for breakfast.
The bar was still open when we arrived, but the barrel had just been changed for the beer my son chose. After drinking some, he realised it was very, very yeasty. It was mentioned to the bar staff, who immediately gave him something else....perfect service!
We will be back - and have already recommended this hotel to others.

We got the room opposite the entrance to the fitness room and underneath the staircase, thank god for ear plugs. It was like sleeping under a trampoline!

This was my second stay here on business. Had problems the first time I was there and felt like the staff were questioning my honesty when i dared complain. Didnt want to go back but my company has some agreement. Second stay much worse than first, room hadnt been prepared properly, huge delays for food even though room was empty and there was 3 staff on as waiting staff. 35 mins to serve one slice of cheesecake.
I really would advise people to find somewhere else.

Our initial early arrival meant that our room was not ready yet and we were informed that if we waited in the lounge they would call us when ready, one and a half hours later we were still waiting, they had forgotten about us!!. All is forgiven as after that, the service and dining experience was indeed excellent.
Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable with good quality bedding.

As always at a Holiday Inn the room we slept in was very clean and the bed as comfortable as can be. Unfortunately the first room allocated had the pool plant outside the window - noisy even with the window shut. The replacement, easily obtained, had no towels in place - that too was easily sorted out but shouldn't have happened with the right checking and attention to detail.
Giving out a welcome drink voucher to Priority Club customers would be a nicer touch if it covered both guests in a double room. Asking for the pint of ale to be served as two halves didn't go down well! With the hotel very busy the breakfast buffet by 9.00 looked shell-shocked as did the staff. I obtained tea and coffee only by going to find a waitress.
The well dressed male reception staff need to understand that their air of arrogance cannot be covered by being only just polite.
This hotel needs management present on the shop floor!

waited 45 mins between starter and main course and main was cold when it came , sent back and plate was very hot when returned , bascally had been put in a microwave to heat .

On arrival the man on the reception asked for my name which I had to repeat 3 times as he could not understand my accent. He proceeded to tell us, he had no booking for us. It turned out that he still did not pick up the name correctly and accused me of giving him the wrong name of the booking. To say I was flabbergasted by this is a understatement, as I have never been spoken to by a hotel receptionist like this before. I think Holiday Inn need to retrain there staff on customer service skills. apart from that the room was lovely.
