Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stop Over We were a little apprehensive about this stay after reading several other reviwes of this hotel, but we need not have worried as even though there was a wedding reception a late christmas party and a coach load of holiday makers all in at the same time, we had an exceptionaly quiet night. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the make shift restaurant, and breakfast was a high standard the next morning and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the hotel is looking a bit dated but is very clean and comfortable. John the night manager is certainly that role model he knows the job well and makes it a very relaxed yet professional environment nothing could possibly go wrong while he is there. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reception brilliant Hotel reception manager Paul espcially is very good nothing too much trouble. Staff very courteous. Will not use bar again. One week I went and the next week same drink £1 different when I queried they had charged me £1 for shot of lemonade. I had had half shandy. So they charged for half pint of beer and £1 for for a shot of lemonade. Concluding I didn't have half of beer as the lemonade took up some of glass. I know you have to expect hotels to be more expensive but I think this is taking the Im not a miser but do expect fairness. Will be using hotel again but not the bar. January 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by room 101 over all hotel was excellant apart from one or two little things,one night during evening meal one of the waitresses hovered waiting for plate to be finished, Reported cigarette holder outside was overflowing and butts over the floor.The power points are on one side of room none near the bed,but im being very picky, the staff were really freindly,and helpful. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by An uneven stay This Holiday Inn is ideally sited near Junction 10, but the directions from a difficult roundabout are not straightforward. I booked five rooms for a weekend with my family with Reward Points. This process is made more complicated because only one room can be booked at a time, and, despite direct contact with the hotel, the rooms did not match the names provided and confirmed by email. Service is uneven because front desk was understaffed, and the restaurant for breakfast was not really geared to the requirements of weekend guests at a relatively slack time of year. Rooms were serviced well, but provision in bathrooms of towels and toiletries were below the standards set by Holiday Inns elsewhere. All in all an unsatisfactory experience. January 14, 2015
