Bathroom mirror not cleaned, had a shower and the steam in mirror displayed some tacky writing.
Received a knock on the door at 6AM!!! Woke me up when the sign on the door clearly had the do not disturb sign.
Kettle dirty alot of limescale

If you can get a good deal and believe me I did, this hotel is as good as it gets. The location is pretty good too. Junction 10 by the M6 (although its so quiet its hard to believe the motorway is adjacent) has excellent access to all that the Midlands have to offer. The food was very good too in very comfortable surroundings. Holiday Inn are a good chain of hotels the world over and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, especially for families as the pool is an unexpected treat.

Stayed here 16th August, arrived to early to book in so decided to have lunch, glad we did, it was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean and the air conditioning very welcome. On arriving back from our party the bar was closed but we were still able to get a coffee. The only criticism I have is, breakfast was very chaotic, too many people, not enough staff. This does not detract from the overall experience of staying in this hotel.

The executive room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It was very quiet and we had a good night's sleep. The hotel and room catered for families with children which is a must when we travel. The only downside to the stay was the service at breakfast. When we were seated it took almost 40 minutes before anyone's orders were taken and so the whole breakfast took much longer than expected. There was one particular unhelpful member of staff but everyone else was superb.

after a quick whizz past the entrance i parked in the huge car pak (great to get parked) and allthough reception was busy due to an IT glitch we were quickly processed, room was top class and the staff were very helpful.
didnt eat there (billy no mates) but food looked and smelt good.
allthough next to M6 no noise no problems.

We stayed in this hotel on the drive home from Alton towers and couldn't have picked a better hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The food was slightly overpriced but we received good service when ordering.
The room was perfect and had everything we needed.
I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and will defiantly be using it again when we are back in the vicinity.

I wasn't expecting much for the price we paid but the hotel was very modern, clean, staff v helpful especially Laura (housekeeping), and above all we had an excellent nights sleep which was just what we needed as we were breaking a long journey.

Friendly, welcoming, and helpful Hotel - Reception and breakfast staff always recognise me and look after me well, even when I'm running late and they should be getting on.
BUT there are some outstanding issues with the leisure side of things... The Jacuzzi doesn't work ( although when I asked at check-in I was told it was fixed), the water is also too cold when it does work. The Sauna is too hot (97 deg is a bit on the warm side!), the light is broken and the sand in the hourglass timer has been stuck at one end for over a year.
There was no shampoo in the gents changing rooms (no holder at all in one shower and an empty one in the other|) and there were no towels at the unmanned desk. So I wasn't as relaxed as I might have been...
These are really the only things that gripe me about this hotel, and they could all be put right fairly easily, so lets hope they are before I visit again.

I am a platinum memebr and have recently stayed at non IHG hotels of late and had nothing but problems. It was nice to be back in the IHG group where you know what the minimum standard including decent pillows. only two slight problems, rooms was to warm had to have noisy air con on and the Plasma tv was like watching a war file due to it being faulty. As i arrived late a didnt get it fixed but mentioned it the following day and im sure it will now be fixed. Nice also to see the pint of a pint wasonly 50p more than a local pub rather than a few pounds compared to past experience in most hotel chains

Exec room with no aircon but aircon available in standard rooms???
Final moan, the sausages are worse things I have ever tried. Like deep fried cat food!
But having said that the hotel is very nice with good food choice and staff are great

executive room ideal for families, great facilities. Hotel clean and well equipped. Reception staff were polite and helpful and so were the breakfast staff. Breakfast was value for money , especially with kids eating free.

Had to stay in the walsall area on business and booked the holiday inn as i have used many. This one is a credit to the brand great facilities modern decor. The staff are fantastic friendly and helpful.

A very enjoyable stay from arrival to departure nothing to much trouble for the staff, a good choice from the menu a wide variety of beverages, knowledgeable staff & a relaxing leisure facility. The bedroom was spacious and the nights sleep very comfortable then the shower in the morning was very invigorating.

Could hear guesst either side. Also during the night inconsiderate noisy guests up and down corrider , very loud and at one point trying to open my door.
T,v signal not good, lost picture and sound often, so gave up..
Shower head leaked alot of water from ajoining connection .Shower curtain stains along bottom..
Such a shame as really nice hotel, and clean. nice reception area, bar lounge, pool, air-con etc.
Would not pay the full price to stay. If at discounted price I would but take ear plugs, just incase. Did inform front desk of above maintainace required in room.

Another lovely business stay at the Holiday Inn Walsall. So relaxing and great service too. Andrew pops up everywhere ... room service, the bar, the restaurant, breakfast, reception ... I hope he gets 5 salaries ! Thank you again for looking after me so well :)

I booked this hotel as I had some business to take care of in Birmingham. Reception and booking in was fine, however the room was a little cold and the air co/fan unit was not working; they had placed a little heater in the room instead.
I raised this with the hotel reception staff, and they were very helpful in offering me a different room. However, they were struggling to find an alternative room, and we were upgraded to an executive suite.
This room was very nice and was spacious and very modern.
The broadband service worked well particularly later on in the evening and in the earlier part of the morning.
Staff seemed helpful and friendly, although we did not ask much of them or have contact with them while we were there.
We did not eat in or use any other facilities, but overall we were satisfied with our stay.
Finally, the location is good if you are driving, it is relatively easy to find, just off the M6. If you are not driving it might not be the best option.

I am the Grooms Mother and disgusted at the value for money my son and his new wife have received from yourselves. First thing - Bride and Bridesmaids had to have cold showers as the boiler was not working fully and all hot water had run out by 6.30am.
They were told the room held 200 people - to find that you only put out 90 seats the other 90 guests had to sit in foyer or outside luckily the weather was brilliant. Bucks fizz and canopies on arrival cost £350.00 Canopies and Bucks Fizz. - this consisted of 3 trays of soggy canopies which were stale and disgusting. Bucks fizz (orange juice no trace of champagne) was put on bar for all residents of the hotel to help themselves and they made sure they did as several members of the wedding party did not get any - one was myself I asked at the bar if there was any more Reply from a very miserable looking barmaid "No it has all gone" putting the champagne and orange juice back in the fridge, carried on serving someone else. The main wedding meal was excellent and the master of ceremonies was a credit to the hotel, I wish I could say that about all the rest of the miserable staff we met. The evening so called Hog roast was just pre-packed pork slices on plastic cobs served with a few chips and sweet corn. Were another wedding party were helping themselves as it was put out in the foyer. Bar staff made up prices as they went along the usher was told that 2 pints of lager came to £15 at one point - to which he just said you are joking - staff replied I don't really know how much they are. Beers and lagers tasted off in the wedding room so everyone went to main bar in reception. Breakfast was a farce - wedding party were meant to eat altogether in Garden room - I was never asked if I was with wedding party and told to sit down on nearest seat - But that did not matter as you did not do anything special for the wedding party anyway. I asked the waitress for some milk which she replied " you have to fetch your own from the buffet and turned away" her hair was hanging all over the place and I found a long black hair in my breakfast which put me off eating it.
It is a good job my daughter in law was so organised as this would have been a right shambles if left to your staff - Who employs a 'wedding planner ' who does not work on a Saturday it is a joke.
Room comfortable quiet but large stains on the floor and no air conditioning - I really feel sorry for my son and his wife at the hard work they have done to pay for this wedding reception and everything you had to do was a shambles. I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

I arrived in the eve time to find the hotel set in pleasant open grounds.
I checked in and was greeted by a friendly member of staff.
As a priority club member Check in time could be improved as was a bit slow and no priority check in as such.
No complimentary water or chocolates provided as a Paltinum member.
Confirmed late check out as pre-arranged and recieved my upgrade to the executive room.
Upon entering it is nice to the eye especially the seperate lounge.
Do not think the room was used in a while as cetain areas dusty and few hairs found.
Can tell some wear and dirty marks on the walls...not exactly what you expect in an executive room.
Lack of tea and coffee and no water bottles in room.
Bathrobe provided but worn so not so good feel.
Carpet was clean but very dated.
Bed was comfortable and not too much noise as room situated in a good spot.
in the morning I was called by the reception manager to state that I needed to vacate the room as no late check out is allowed today and no apology just an abrupt voice on the other end as if to imply I had over stayed.
I had to rush around to gather my belongings and get ready in a panic which did not make this an enjoyable visit.
At the check out the sour faced reception manager took my key and not once asked how my stay was..I bought up the concern as to why pre-agreed upon booking and check in and no mention that there is no late check out, and was advised the receptionist made an error.
I aired my concerns to how dis satisifed I was to the way i have been treated and no customer service to which I recieved a blank look.
This is not acceptable and a manager should have gone through some training I would assume and with hotel managment experience myself it is astonishing how she has managed to obtain a position as a hotel manager.
As a Platinum member Im disgusted.

Another comfortable stay at The Holiday Inn Walsall.
I was particularly impressed when I turned up for breakfast the morning after an end of contract party. I was a few minutes late ! Jessie said "No problem Mr Rachwal, take a seat, have a cup of tea, and then brought me the most wonderful Full English breakfast. It would have been so easy for her to say that I was too late. Excellent, excellent customer service !

Nice place East of Wolverhampton. Small Gym, pool area and facilities need a re-furbish. Didnt pick up my Platinum Priority club status prior to arrival but recognised it once discussed. Good bar area and big rooms.
Handy, good value hotel.

Value for money. really enjoyed our stay. Staff is very nice. They do care for you. Especially Night Manager Karan was very polite and helpful. Solved our air conditioning issues quickly. Definitely we will visit again.

I took advantage of the room service a couple of nights as I had a heavy cold. It arrived 20 minutes later, hot and absolutely delicious. The staff here are first class ! Recommended :)

first time experience stayin in the holiday inn,lovely kingsize bed, very clean and well presented, the only bed experience was the sofa bed it was very uncomfortable not recommend if you suffer with bad back problems like my partner has, but overall a lovely place to stay and very kind and helpful staff.
