Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by washington Room 421, booked as a double, however the bed was actually 2 singles pushed together. This resulted in an uncomfortable lump down the middle. The bathroom was lovely but marred by an old door with the lock half hanging off. June 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and friendly The hotel is generally a great place to stay. Typical northern hospitality tied with a well run ship. If I was to be super critical, the hotel is due a face-lift, a bit 'tired' in many public corridors/lifts areas etc. although it doesn't spoil the stay. These hotels cater for a vast amount of traffic, so is in decent condition considering. The complimentary Wi-Fi is typically poor most the time, which is common around the whole group of hotels, I had a complimentary upgrade with password but seemed to have no benefit. Over-all a very pleasant place to stay. June 1, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but room for improvement I visited recently with a friend whilst on a motorcycling weekend. Check in was fast, staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast could have been better if the bacon and sausage had not been so dried out even though we were practically first in the restaurant. Dinner was very nice and served efficiently even though they were quite busy. I'm not impressed with the design of the new shower rooms as the walk in shower dominates the room leaving room for a small basin with a large mixer tap that makes it very difficult to wash. My only other gripe is that our room was not serviced for our second day, which was irritating but not worth making a fuss about at the time. All in all I would have no hesitation in staying again and recommending to others. May 18, 2016
