My only real complaint was that the cleaning staff yell at each other down the hall from 8 AM until they finish. The elevator floors remained dirty for 4 days in a row. April 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by would stay again We enjoyed our stay, and would choose to again if we were in the area. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in the immediate area, although they did appear to be much "higher end" hotels. My confirmation email upon booking had us paying what I thought was a very reasonable price. Upon check out it appears that we paid about 11% more than what my confirmation email stated. When I called to inquire, I was told we paid for the "bed and breakfast" rate. What that entailed, was a voucher for the downstairs restaurant. Once seated, we were told by our waitress (used loosely) that the only thing we could get using the voucher was the buffet. I don't recall choosing the bed & breakfast option, but had I known this I would have opted out. The buffet was average at best, and I'm not a fan of buffets. There were simple choices on the menu consisting of 2 cooked eggs, potatoes, meat and bread. Surely, the voucher could have covered such a simple, fresh cooked meal. Particularly given that the rate we paid over what we were quoted, would have more than easily covered the extra cost to have fresh cooked food. The coffee was bland and flavorless. We had to walk down the street to another place to get real coffee. There are also MANY other breakfast options very close by that offer fresh, locally cooked food, if you don't mind walking a block or 2. Very trendy cafe's with good coffee and staff. Finally, our tub didn't drain, so there was about 2-3 inches of standing water in the bottom while showering. Had we been staying more than 2 nights, I would have insisted on a different room with a functional tub. Overall, a decent place, but definitely would know next time around how to improve the stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location, location, location We were in DC for some sightseeing and to see the Cherry Blossoms, and this location is as close as you're going to get. Of course, you're paying for parking, and the garage is tight, but I was able to fit my Dodge Caravan into a spot - just move slowly. If you're going to leave your car parked for a few days, you may want to consider parking in a ramp a couple of blocks away and save $20 / night or so. The staff here is incredible! Easily the friendliest, most accommodating staff I've never seen at any hotel (not just Holiday Inn). If we're coming back to DC, we'll stay here April 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very friendly staff, comfortable stay Family of four with young kids visited for Spring Break. Room was comfortable and very clean. Staff was exceptionally friendly every time we came and went. It is relatively close to major attractions if you take the bus at the stop on 14th, however it is nowhere near a Metrotrain stop. We learned it was a little too far to walk to the White House/Mall area if you have young kids. Taxi rides were less than $15 from there, however. April 14, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Really wanted to give this a better review Visited 3 nights with husband and teen. First time in DC. A word of advice for other 1st timers visiting DC.... Drivers in DC are constantly blowing their horns and ambulance, fire and police cars drive by with loud sirens quite frequently. If your room is facing the street view, bring head phones or something else that will quiet the constant noise. Location was a further than anticipated and you'll be walking a lot. This is a pro for those who are younger and in shape. Don't be sucked in by the breakfast brochure. Very expensive for low quality food and service. $15 for a buffet that has very little to chose from and it was all just bad tasting food. Parking will run you an average of $30.00 a night. No one will tell you this, even when you ask....twice. The parking lot is so small, we had a hard time getting out...and our car is compact. The maid service was good and so was the initial check in. However, I will say that the parking fees need to be disclosed upfront when completing the parking slip when you arrive. Bed was ok. A little too soft and worn. The sheets felt and smelled clean. The tv was not the best quality, in case you get stuck inside due to the weather like we did. Also, the pool doesn't open till late May. I really wanted to give a better review, especially for the price, but there were so many little things that added up, we won't be recommending this hotel. Pay a few more dollars and stay closer to what the city has to offer. April 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient for tourists The Holiday Inn/White House is in a great location for visiting DC. There are also many restaurants nearby and a Whole Foods just a couple of blocks away. The staff could not be nicer and greeted us with a smile whenever we passed the check in desk. April 10, 2015
