Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay but poor service Room and location are excellent. The bath tub would not drain, called front desk who sent maintence to look at the problem. The maintence person fiddled around with the stopper and claimed to fix the problem. The next morning the water still would not drain. In formed the front desk at checkout, they did not care or apologize. June 7, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Watchman Excellent place to stay. Very close to the attractions. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Answered any question we had about things around town. The Gentleman that worked in the evening at Casey's Gift Shop was super in recommendations on restaurants to check out. He also directed us to the best touring packages. On our first night we ate at the restaurant in the hotel. It was amazing. The waiter (which I will call Mr. A) was outstanding, second to none. His attention to detail made the whole evening worth while. Being from the Midwest this made the start of our trip a very memorable one. June 5, 2014

Check in was a breeze, rooms and bathrooms are updated, room and all hotel common areas were clean. We also liked the fact that Starbucks is attached to the hotel and CVS and McDonald's are just steps away. We would recommend this hotel to others. June 5, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor restaurant service While the location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be near the Smithsonian, it is not the best in terms of quality service. The restaurant staff were not attentive and one of the waitresses had a very poor attitude towards me and my family. The hotel room was nicely appointed however the bathroom door kept getting stuck and at one point I thought I might have to call for assistance to get my daughter out. We also had a problem with adults and children yelling and screaming on our floor which made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. June 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and good facilities This hotel is located in a great location for easy access to many of the DC area tourist attractions, especially the Capitol and National Mall. We stay here almost every trip to DC (2 to 3 times a year). One downside this trip was the room was located across from the service room for the floor. The service people were VERY noisy when they set up their carts in the morning, disturbing our last hour of sleep each morning. June 4, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overpriced I have never paid $37 to park at a hotel for one night, to include a PARKING TAX! The location is ok for the comuter train and for McDonalds and Quiznos. The service and food in the restaurant was horrible! I walked into the restaurant and saw two female employees conversing, they did not acknowledge that I was standing there waiting to be seated until a third female saw me and greeted me and asked if I wanted to be seated. Then one of the other female employees asked me to follow her to a seat. After I was seated, the server Charles took my order which seemed to be a little difficult for him to hear what I was saying. The food was not tasty at all...the chicken smelled and tasted like it was freezer burned or spoiled, so I asked for the check and received two receipts for different amounts. I asked Charles which receipt was the correct one and he asked to run my card again. Breakfast was a buffet that had napkins covering the food which was unsanitary. The fruit seemed to be left over from the day before and again overpriced for what was being served. The room was roomy, but condiments that are normally in a hotel I.e. hand/face soap, shower cap etc. were not available. I have stayed at Holiday Inn on previous occasions and the experience was more pleasant. June 3, 2014

I was able to park my car (at a ridiculously high rate) at the hotel and walk to all the places I wanted to visit. The restaurants in the hotel offer good food and fast service, and there are fast food places nearby. The metro station is next to the hotel, so there is no reason to have to fight the traffic. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location I was a chaperone for an 8th grade class trip with limited funds. This hotel was the perfect location and very accomodating. We arrived very early - 10 AM and were allowed to go to our rooms to put our things in even though the official check in time is much later. The cost of this hotel is excellent considering its location and willingness to be so accomodating. I would like to take my own family there for a visit to Washington. June 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad location and bad info, no travel desk The room was satisfactory with plenty of room. The location to just the mall was very good, but it is surrounded by Federal agency government buildings. There are no restaurants or bars within a mile. Only fast food joints, McDonalds and Quiznos, and a small deli, and over a mile to the closest market. The closest metro stop is L'Enfant which is 2 blocks, good for Arlington and Georgetown connection. The front desk staff and the bell men seemed to know nothing about the area and frequently gave us the wrong info, even said the Smithsonian Museums were closed, when they were open. We think the hotel is over priced and had large groups of 8th graders on field trips in late May. Can't recommend the food. June 1, 2014

I have always visited it with children, so we tended to eat at the the nearby fast food restaurants, but the hotel restaurant looked good. Just 2 blocks from the L'Enfant Metro station, this hotel is a wonderful base for visiting our nation's capital. May 31, 2014

Everything was immaculate and the staff friendly. The only small thing we did not love was the cooling/heating system in the room - we live in the country and enjoy more fresh air. We spent alot of relaxing time in the outdoor atrium! I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know visiting DC... May 30, 2014

The air conditioning system is on a movement sensor. That made the nights uncomfortable and hot, unless you got up and waved your body in front of the sensor. Overall a nice place to stay! Thank you! The front desk employees were very accommodating with my requests and did what they needed to do to make sure my family's needs were met. The restaurants in the hotel were very good and the portions of the food were pleasantly surprising! My only disappointment was that our room was directly behind the railroad tracks so we were able to hear the train roll through at all hours... Other than that, the room was perfect. Very spacious and immaculate! The room attendants were wonderful and very friendly. We love going to the Air and Space Museum and were thrilled the hotel was 1/2 block away from the museum's entrance! My family and I visit Washington, DC. every Memorial Day weekend. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again! I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly! Thanks, Holiday Inn for a wonderful weekend! May 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would Stay Here Again We selected this hotel based on its location and we were not disappointed. It was easily accessible from the highway. Much easier drive than we anticipated. Parking under the hotel. Secure. We were close to attractions which we knew we wanted to see. The location helped us to decide to go to an evening concert Memorial Day weekend, a memorable event to attend. Not far from L'Enfant Plaza and the Metro if you choose to travel that way. Hotel elevator was fast. The room looked exactly like the pictures on the website and was clean. Beds were comfortable and we were able to sleep well. Refrigerator in the room wasn't working at first but someone came right up to fix it and we were able to keep our bottled water very chilled. Coffee maker in the room with complimentary pods...needed to ask for refills. Good toiletries. Good restaurant, buffet, and express food to go. Daily list of events in DC available from hotel front desk...just needed to ask for it every day. Very pleasant staff. We would stay here again. May 29, 2014

The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever I needed some information. The Bistro Café has excellent food, one of the best Filet Mignon's I have had in a Hotel restaurant, and with a Starbucks on premises, I found it perfect. Highly recommend this property, and I will stay the next time I am in DC. May 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Comfortable room The beds are one of the most comfortable I have ever sleep in and I have frequented some the highest end hotels, very surprising because I was very skeptical about lodging at "Holiday Inn". I only had a few issues: 1-there were kinds running up and down the hallways all during the night. 2-the maid did not knock before trying to enter the room, luckily I had the extra latch on. 3-the live entertainment was great but you could hear it clean up to the 5th floor, so when I went up to my room to get some rest, I had to turn my television up to drown out the music from down stairs. Other than that it is a very nice hotel and in a great location. May 26, 2014

The staff is always very receptive and helpful. Cleaness of rooms have been impecable. I would recommend this hotel, very close to everything and you would not require a car to get around. The hotel was centrally located, within walking distance of momuents, museums and restaurants. Rooms where clean, well appointed and bathroom beautiful.
