Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New Hotel, With thought to all the little extras. Stayed here over the weekend with my partner in an "Executive King Room" We wanted to park and go into London early but the check in staff made this rather difficult/confusing saying we would have to pay £50 to check in early... When all we wanted to do is register the car and go off into central London for the day! (Maybe this was a language barrier?) When we got back in the evening we were checked in by a woman who seemed to be more confident in her role. The room was huge, although I am used to having a seating area in Executive rooms rather than just a single chair, along with an actual King Size bed not a queen... Although this is nothing to cry over! BUT I've got to mention that the positives of this room made it a good stay! Things such as: Large wall of windows, making the room full of natural, one thing hotel rooms usually struggle with! Lighting: The room had a number of down-lighters, lamps, reading lamps all with the ability to be zoned so you can create comfortable mood lighting. The Bathroom had a lovely bath and the lighting extended here, with an ambient and main light so if you wanted to relax in the bath with just a little bit of light you could do so. LOTS of plug sockets by the bed, desk and mirrors, with the added thought of USB chargers. Good sized work desk away from the sleeping area Full length mirror, amazing how many hotels forget this! Plenty of hanging space The next day we enjoyed a very nice breakfast with REAL ORANGE JUICE! which is such a simple yet so many hotels fails to do this! All served by friendly staff. Upon checkout we encountered the same women we did the previous morning with the parking issues; again she presented us with slight embarrassment when making us wait while she phoned housekeeping to make sure we hadn't "taken anything from the room". I explained my credit card was on file as an IHG member which was met with a slight attitude, although again this could be a language barrier. Overall this place is a lovely hotel and all but the one member of staff we came across had been very professional and warm, I do understand that this is a new hotel. I’m sure in time once everyone find their feet this will be one the best value places to stay within the London area. I would definitely stay here again, and the open lobby is a real improvement, I felt relaxed and at home having a drink and playing old school pac man! April 7, 2015
