Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Will never stay here again This was up there in some of the worst places I've stayed. 1. When I first arrived to the door after checking in, it didn't even work. I had to call management and wait for them to fix the door instead of them just switching me rooms. 2. I'm from the desert so I like a warm room, I put the temp at 78 and it never even came close. It started a cool 68-69 the whole time. 3. I think for the price they should at least have a complimentary breakfast instead of paying extra for a breakfast buffet at the restaurant downstairs, which by the way cannot cook a steak (overcooked it). And 4. When I decided to check out early from my 8 night stay, I informed the front desk of the issues and they shrugged it off like it was nothing. Maybe its just nagging, but if I'm gonna spend that kind of money again, I'll do it someplace else. March 4, 2015

Clean, modern, comfortable, quality furnishings, very friendly staff. Location is a plus as West Des Moines is awesome for eating and shopping, but you are just 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Des Moines too. March 2, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel It's a nice, comfortable place to stay. I was disappointed that there was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room, but no microwave. The breakfast buffet was really good but a little expensive, especially since every other time that I've stayed at a Holiday Inn the breakfast was complementary for guests. And the restaurant manager was not very nice. She basically accused one of my co-workers (who was also a guest at the hotel) of stealing a granola bar from the breakfast buffet which was ridiculous considering that he paid for his buffet. Yeah, A FREAKING GRANOLA BAR, as if the worldwide, corporate hotel chain isn't making enough money... Aside from all that, I would definitely stay there again if I ever have to come back to Des Moines. February 22, 2015
