I intended to have a drink at the bar, but the bed was so comfortable that I didn't make it.

It was a nice hotel and had very accommodating hours for pool and fitness center along with a modern look and clean rooms and common areas.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sandrap49 Great priced comfy getaway
In town for state baseball tournament. We like the Jordan Creek area and chose the Holiday Inn Express because of it's location, price, and love Johnny's Italian restaurant especially the breakfast. Beds are great and room clean and comfortable.

From the price, to the super comfy bed, the staff was very pleasant, and we always love the breakfast at Johnnys.

I have been staying in a lot of hotels in DesMoines Iowa this past year and this was not my favorite. The hotel is way overpriced for the quality of bed that you get. The breakfast made my husband very ill.
The scrambled eggs with cheese was not hot and I did not eat mine but he did. I wonder about the warmers they are using when they serve the buffet.
The room was extremely clean and quiet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Doug1996 Business Travel Challenge Due to Wireless Network
I found this branch good of its kind generally but was very frustrated by the wireless network. The network speeds were so poor that I was unable to load a browser or send email. I was told be the staff that it was due to the high volume of users - this isn't a very satisfactory answer as there are plenty of technical solutions to this problem if one cares to invest in them.
The following morning speeds were up from 1MB to 5MB but I still found getting on the network spotty. The network is secured too which is a step up from the Drury Inn down the road. The wired network jacks in my room also didn't work so I had no alternative but to head to the office early to catch up.
The door to the gym swallowed my key card. When I told the staff member at the front desk he made it clear that the problem had happened before a week or two back and it made me wonder why it wasn't fixed as many people use the gym in hotels while traveling.
I was underwhelmed by the knowledge of the staff but they did try very hard to be helpful and gave me a couple of breakfast vouchers for my inconvenience. This turned out to be one of the highlights of the stay as the breakfast buffet is top-notch; great selection, freshly prepared. On a similar note, the bar area has a nice selection of ryes and bourbon, a little light on the single malts but nice overall - I didn't try the dinner service.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kzuc Excellent staff and clean rooms
Staff was friendly and very attentive. My top priority is cleanliness of rooms, this hotel was very clean. It was an excellent value based on price. There was a nice social area with the bar and restaurant; as well as being within walking distance to several other restaurants. I would definitely stay again.
