When planning our Yellowstone vacation, there were fewer options because fo the nature of Yellowstone - there's few locales with lodging that isn't a cabin or campsite. So when we found the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone within our IHG family of properties, we were happy. We expected very little from a sparsely populated town, but were happy that there was even an option.
The property and the service blew away our expectations. The professionalism of the management staff, the quality of the in-property restaurant, the cleanliness and "relax" quality fo the rooms, the pool and laundry amenities, etc, were all way more than we expected, and clearly the best in the town. The property quality fits more in with a resort town than a small town in Montana. As a Spire IHG customer, I have high standards and plenty of points of comparison - and I would recommend this property to anyone.

All was good except that there was no water for almost 24 hours. Not pleasant if you spent a whole day in Yellowstone hiking and found out there was no hot water to take shower.

Front desk staff were great.
In my opinion, the hotel was not a good value for money. Honestly, we usually stay inside the national parks, but everything was booked (even 4 mos in advance).
Rooms were just motel-quality, as were the bed linens and bath towels, etc. Furniture was (in my opinion) cheap, plastic-y, and didn't look inviting. One night someone was smoking on our floor, even though it was non-smoking, Thanks again to the front desk staff for taking care of it. Breakfast was not a good experience for us - not good service or food, or value.
