This isn't my first stay at the Wichita Falls Holiday Inn. It's in a great location for my work, and it's surround by beautiful parks with excellent highway access. But that's where the good words end.
The hotel has no functioning air conditioner in the lobby or restaurant. The restaurant used to be good; now it's obviously microwaved pre-prepared food, with a very limited menu. The high temperatures gave the lobby a funky musty odor.
The rooms have old window-unit air conditioners that sound like diesel semis. There is no central control to keep the rooms in a tolerable temperature for entry. My room felt like it was 100°F when I walked in, and it took hours to become comfortable.
And don't expect to be able to use the internet. The wifi is constantly down. I thought it was fluke experience last time, but this time I'm certain that it never functions in the rooms. So I couldn't complete the work I needed to do before the next day's meetings.
Staff was courteous, but it was apparent the new female manager did not know this hotel's operations and couldn't provide any beneficial assistance. STAY AWAY!!!

I have stayed here twice. Don't ever think that you are going to check in before 3 pm. Even at 2:50 pm I was told I had to wait to check in. Be sure you get the type of room you ask for. I asked for a King & they tried to give me a handicapped full & yet when I went back to them to get the king, they never apologized for the mix up. Just because it's an indoor pool don't think you can still swim when it's raining outside. And the spa...forget about that too. It's been broke for at least 2 weeks now.
Not worth the $$$$!!!!

overall it wasok, however the front desk man that checked me in was rude and talked the his friends waitting in line behind me. Never said thanks for being a culb member. The carpet in my room is dirty and in bad need of a cleaning. I told thefront desk at check out, however the hotel most likly has notdone anything. The bathroom is way behind in needing an upgrade and we will leave it at that.

When we arrived there was one gentelmen behind the counter talking with the other staff. He was way more intrested in talking to the co-workers than checking myself and 2 guest all with indivdual rooms into the hotel. Not only did he not really care he was rude during the exchange. I have stayed at this hotel for 8 years and at least 25 times.No More! Also, the hotel had an odor and was old and rooms
appeared to be not stayed in awhile. Again, a Poor Experience!

My wife and I arrived at the hotel later in the evening after driving for 10+ hours, and we were very pleased from what we saw. The property could use a few minor touches here and there, but overall the place was in good shape. I thought I had booked one of their corner suites that promised "a view of the falls", but apparently I didn't because we were placed in a standard room that overlooked the banquet hall roof, so my view was of exhaust fans and duct work. I also had to do some maintenance work in the bathroom when the commode didn't function properly, but we were only there for one night, so it wasn't a big deal to us.
The guy working the evening desk shift was very friendly, and made us feel welcome upon arrival. He never acknowledged my Gold Elite status (or that I was a PC member at all), but he developed rapport with me the way a good GSR should & answered all of my questions in a professional manner.
The most impressive aspect of this property was the security guard working overnight. He not only interacted with us and our 2 dogs, but he made us very confident that our vehicle (and the baby shower gifts we had locked inside) would be safe in the parking lot. Just after midnight, I took my dogs outside for a quick walk, & the security guard made a point to ask if everything was acceptable in our room. He then wished us a good night when I came back through a few minutes later, which really stood out to me because the night auditor did not acknowledge my presence either time I passed her. Hopefully this is not the first comment about this guy & the mgt team here recognizes him for being such a great ambassador for their hotel.

I travel alot and have stayed in many of hotels but what I have come to notice that my experiences has been the same when I come the Holiday Inn in Wichita Falls Texas. The rooms are clean and well stocked bed was very comfortable, the services is great from the greeting at desk to room service when I just wanted to stay in. The staff was just wonderful and very polite.

I recently stayed here and it was the worst experience I've had this year in 45 nights. The air conditioners are turned off during the day so you are greeted with a nice oven experience upon entry. I changed rooms as there was no possible way the air conditioner on this suite was going to cool it down at all. So I asked to be movd smaller room. When I got to this room the air conditioner was cold but th fan didn't work. I gave it some time by trying to go to the bar to cool off. However, the air conditioner was broken there as well. I returned to my room and it was still an oven. I asked to move to a third room. Again, air conditioner was off so I was starting from scratch. I finally gave up and stayed in hot room all night. In the hot Texas sun I would stay elsewhere util they figure out their air conditioning issues. I know I won't be going back.

Air condition would not cool room, tub drain missing, phone would not work for calling front desk for wake up call. Girl working front desk had horrible attitude and was arguing with coworkers over the radio constantly.
Prices have gone up but property has gone down.

When I travel I reserve rooms ahead of time. I did so at this property.
Reserving a King nonsmoking. I arrived close to midnight after a long day of driving. I was told there were no more non smoking rooms available. When I reminded the staff I had a confirmed reservation, they shrugged and said, sorry all the rooms are taken.
After ten or fifteen minutes of back and forth they found a king non smoking on the executive floor. 15 minutes of hassle at midnight when a room was available all along ?!
Once I got to my room, I found it to be clean, but older and in need of maintenance and over all attention.
I'm a Gold Elite IHG member, I wonder whats that designation worth ?
This property does not deserve my business and will not get it again.

Great View and my room was great and so were the people.
My only complaint was the Bar/Restaurant did not have a working ELECTRONIC credit card machine. They said they wouldn't for 6 MONTHS!
So, I got stuck with my Tab as my Company won't accept a HANDWRITTEN RECEIPT.
My Company asked me if this Hotel was stuck in the 60's and will not reimburse me....

After a very long drive it was nice to be able to relax in comfort. Even being right next to the freeway and a bad storm going through we never heard a thing. It was so quiet. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. They were even friendly toward my dog.

I understand now why the Holiday Inn Express in town is cheaper than the this full HI.
The facilities are old and dirty/decaying. The bar (on Saturday night) was dead. The breakfast food quality was poor and cold. One waitress, dripping sweat, was running around trying to help everyone. She said the other employee in the back, "won't listen to me".
This was possibly the worst HI I have ever stayed in, and I've been platinum for 9 years running, so stay in a lot of HI properties.

We had a very poor experience in the restaurant for dinner. When we placed our order there were only two other tables with one person each in the restaurant. After waiting 40 minutes the waitress came to the table to let us know that the cook suddenly discovered that he had no cooked pasta. She offered us some chips and salsa and stated that she would bring our dinner to our room. We agreed. About 40 minutes later we received the dinners. The meat in the baked penne dish was so overcooked we could not eat it. The next morning we went down for breakfast and tried to order French Toast. We were told they did not have the cinnamon roll bread that they normally used to make the dish. We did report all of this to the front desk when we checked out and they did adjust our bill for the amount of the meal for dinner.

The food and service are horrible here. One reason I stay at a full service hotel is after a long day, I don't want to go anywhere... But if you decide to brave this resturant, plan on a very limited menu, long wait time for anyone to show up, and food not fit for swine! The breakfast buffet is put out early, then forgotten about the rest of the morning. After complaining how nasty it looked, I was promised it would be different the next day... WRONG! I don't even know how the health dept allows this place to stay open!
The waitress, if and when she shows up, won't shut up! She thinks if she visits long enough, she will get a tip, while ignoring everyone else in the room holding up their coffee cups!
This resturant is a disaster and hurts the Holiday Inn name.
In addition, I couldn't even get extra pillows which I need for my health issues. The TV didn't work, but was fixed after I called... The bathroom looked clean, but felt dirty... The carpet was nasty & dirty in places.
You could tell the owner/operator took the art of penny pinching to a new level...
I don't think I'll stay there again if I can help it.

Room was excellent. Clean and comfortable with newer styling and furnishings. The restaurant is sub-standard. The breakfast buffet was sub-standard. Things like biscuits and gravy and meats were luke-warm at best - well below what an inspector would have found acceptable. The chilled items like fruit were fine. Because of time limitations, at diner there as well. The service was slow and the kitchen even slower producing the food. Not impressed at all - they could close the restaurant and it would be a net improvement for the hotel.

I was very disappointed with the service at this property, my family and I stayed here for mother's day weekend and I was very upset with the service, we waited over 45 minutes for someone to take our breakfast order to no avail we finally left and without eating.
The rooms were in terrible shape for instance the AC I set on 60 degrees and it stayed hot in the room and this was the presidential suite mind you, the toilet paper holder had to be held to keep from coming out of the wall and the bedding for the pullout sofa was dirty and not even folded and after asking 3 times for bedding I had to go to the front desk at 11:30 at night and get it myself, I am a Platinum Elite rewards member and was treated horribly.

I was not greeted, more like ignored, when I entered. I pulled out my information and was told that they did not have my reservation and I must be confused with the Holiday Inn Express. I had to pull out my information and show her the location.. I asked if it was in another name because it was booked through my company, gave them my business card and even stated one of three people that may have made the reserveation. I even had the last 4 digits of the credit card it was booked with. One of the three women jumped and said, oh yes, we have a (naming the person), yet the manager told her to shut up and told me again they did not have a reservation in my name. I insisted how would I have known that someone from another country with that name made the reservation from my same company and I just drove up to the middle of no where to take her room. She insisted I call the UK as if anyone would be working at that hour to prove it. As if the staff were not rude enough, the room felt dirty, there were no overhead lights, and I had to unplug a lamp to plug in my phone and computer. Because I had to unplug the lighting, I ended up leaving a charging cord there. I called the hotel two days in a row and contacted Holiday Inn also, both in person and online, and no one has yet to call me back with where my charger is. Three different avenues and no response. The worst customer service ever by Holiday Inn both on site and through the online site. I would never recommend this place.

All above we're very enjoyable. Staff could use some training on welcoming guests to the facility by working with the IHG hotels in LA and MS. Facilities could use a facelift.

Had a reservation for non-smoking room. When I arrived, all they had was a smoking room. Noisy in hallways up to 2 am. Not a very clean place!

Holiday Inn gave the symphony a special 6:00 pm checkout. This made it impossible for housekeeping to get the rooms ready for those checking in on Saturday. MANY people were unable to check in to their rooms until after 10:00 pm, some not at all. Either you can't give the symphony a 6:00 pm checkout or they have to pay for 2 nights. The hotel staff did their very best to deal with some extremely unhappy guests. The manager should have stayed to help the gentleman Saturday night. It was inexcusable for the manager to go home and leave the counter staff to deal with the mess he, and corporate, created. The ladies and gentlemen that staff checkin have always been so kind and helpful. I really felt sorry for the unfortunate situation they were forced into. It was not their fault!

The average review of this hotel is about right. Its not bad, but it's not really great. Lights were out in the room. The air unit would only function during certain hours and the halls smelled of smoke, even though we had a non-smoking room. I'm guessing the reason for the smell is that they had split the floor in half. One half was smoking rooms and the other was non-smoking.
Finally, they didn't acknowledge my priority club status. I got the impression we were a bother to the man behind the desk.
On a good note - the other staff were really helpful when I asked them about directions.
Basically, the hotel worked into our route and I got the points, but I wouldn't stay there again. Rather choose a city closer or further along.

Server was very nice.
Quality of dinner meal only average.
Breakfast service was very slow; food not exactly what was ordered and the temp was tepid.
