Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by In the process of upgrades - Good stay I travel a lot for business and generally stay in a Holiday Inn or one of the other IHG hotels when I can. The Holiday Inn East in Wichita is in the middle of an upgrade project and there is lots of construction going on, but they don't let them start until after 9 AM and they make them stop by 7PM. My room that I had booked was unavailable due to a water pipe that broke. The front desk manager provided me with free breakfast to make up for not getting the King Bed room that I had booked and was very nice about the whole thing. The staff were VERY nice, including the housekeeping folks I ran into in the hallways. Every single one of them smiled and said hello to me. As I said, I travel a lot and that is not the norm. Overall, it was a good stay and I would stay there again. February 23, 2015

Had hoped for a breakfast to be included as other Holiday Inn Express, but we were able to do without. Didn't use the restaurant. February 19, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointed this time I have stayed at this property multiple times and generally it is a good experience. I have had one time that the room was less than optimal and had mold in the bathroom. This situation was remedied and all was ok. This last time I stayed I used some of my reward points. I was put in one of the "New Rooms" and was not pleased at all. When we got into the room it was dirty. There was dirt in all the corners as well as along the floor boards and garbage all over the floor. The dresser was pulled away from the wall at an angle and the room was in a general state of mess. My wife and I had traveled over 1700 miles in two days and were absolutely exhausted. We decided to overlook this and try to go to sleep. Then the wind started howling through the A/C unit and we couldn't sleep. I also had to put a pair of jeans on the floor to cover the half inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I know we should have said something at this point but again we were exhausted. The next morning as we were checking out I let the front desk know what had happened and offered to show pictures. The front desk simply wrote down what was wrong, did not want to see the pictures and advised me I should have said something last night. I explained to them it was late and they just repeated that I should have complained upon check in. That was the end of the conversation. I did not want to be rude or get more irritated. I was already exhausted from no sleep and a lot of travel. Now normally we have a good stay here and as platinum members we stay in a lot of IHG properties. This property is not bad. Just make sure you complain right away and don't expect the NEW ROOMS to be all that they should be. February 3, 2015
