There was no breakfast available for the students I was chaperoning. This put quite a damper on our morning. Hungry kids = cranky kids.

This hotel has two personalities. It is being renovated - the bright half, and it has it's un-renovated side - the ugly step child.
The older half is exactly that - old, marginally functional, and not a comfortable environment for a business stay. There are no refridgerators or microwaves included with a basic room rental, and hot water in many of these rooms requires prayerful patience. If you tend to sleep on one side of the bed or the other you will wake up in the middle of the matress. You may or may not have all of the bulbs in the light fixtures to use. You may also enjoy the cacophany of the antiquated HVAC unit as it randomply cycles on and off throughout the night.
Do insist on the renovated side of the hotel, and all will be well. Except you may be more comfortable eating at least breakfast elsewhere - there are only a few decent offering during breakfast at the Green Mill.

The staff went out of their way to get me a room while going through renovations.
The entire staff knew who I was and that special accommodations had been made to ensure that I had a room even though there was very limited availability.

I have traveled on business in the USA and Europe. The single most important requirements a hotel must meet for me to return are 1) Clean bathroom,2) Comfortable Bed and,3) QUIET ROOM. My requirements have not changed now that I am retired,

On-going renovations at this hotel make it the best choice on the east side of Wichita. The rooms are now upgraded with micros and refrigerators (which was an add-on previously at $5/day). All renovated rooms are pleasantly appointed and very comfortable.
Now they should work out a better breakfast selection at the Green Mill restaurant!
