The Williamsburg-Historic Gateway Holiday Inn is a reasonably priced hotel a short ride or a rather long walk to downtown Colonial Williamsburg., The hotel has a spare but pleasing style, with abundant parking. The reception desk staff were friendly and helpful.
I was quite satisfied with the buffet breakfast that came along with the room, finding the food fresh and tasty. It was served at the hotel's restaurant, the Bistro, which also offers lunch and dinner. The mussels were exceptional.. Our waiter, Wesley, made dining at the Bistro a pleasure, giving us excellent recommendations about the menu and filling us in on places to see in the area as well as interesting facts about the Historic Triangle and Tidewater Virginia. .

Visited Williamsburg for a short weekend stay and only needed the room for one night.
Location is right on Route 60 and is very convenient to Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown.
Front Desk staff (Jan) was splendid. She was friendly, accommodating, and funny. She greeted my wife and I warmly and as Spire Elite members, checked us in quickly and had us up to our room within moments of arrival.
The property has recently undergone a renovation and still has a very fresh contemporary vibe to it. The lobby is large, warm, and nicely appointed. The dark wood tones with the bright lights and shiny tile back-splashes add a nice pop of color and vibrant feel to the common areas.
The room was well a nicely appointed suite with separate bedroom and living areas, both with TV's. A smart climate control system that worked well and kept the room at the desired temp with no issues at all. The bathroom was big, clean, and bright. I do wish that the door to the bathroom opened outwardly instead of in as there is no light in the shower itself and with the door open the majority of the light is blocked by it. The door to the restroom was kept open when showering as there is minimal ventilation to the area without it being open so steam rapidly accumulates.
Parking is ample with most of it being in the rear of the property, but both front and rear areas were very well lit at night for safety and security reasons.
Check-out was a snap, bill prints around 2am and if there are no pending charges all is settled before you even reach the front desk. Again the desk staff were friendly on our departure and truly cared when they asked if we had a pleasant stay.
We will most certainly be back if in the area.
