I have always stayed at holiday Inn and this one is bad.
The room is good.
The bathroom is bad, it looks like the owner did the repairs because it looks awful.
Our dinning experience I could go on for a while but to sum it up.
Not enough help. Bad chef. Dirty dishes, my family fought me not to go back the next day even though it was paid for.
All in all don't go let it close.

For breakfast they only had various egg biscuits, oat meal, grits and small muffins for the buffet. We were never offered a menu and had to ask for napkins several times. The second day when we went for breakfast they were complexly out of biscuits and we had to bring it to their attention. There was only one person working the dining room and he was also in charge of the meeting room. Twice we had to go into a dark room off the dining room to get him as he was on his phone. Need better staffing in the dining room.
The maintenance and front desk staff were wonderful. We had a very loud non cooling HVAC and they replaced it. Even with a new HVAC we could not get the room very cool and I heard other complaints about this from people in our group.

I recommend this Holiday Inn for large conferences. They have more conference space than any other hotel on this side of town. The staff was very helpful and polite. The conference space was set correctly and on time. We have used this Holiday Inn for the last 12 years for our conference and they have improved this facility every year and we really enjoyed our rooms and the conference space.

Tried to get in the other Holiday Inns but they were sold out. I was told this property was refurbished in 2010. There is no way this could be true. I worked for HI many years ago and have stayed at over 30 properties in the past and this by far was the least appealing. Room and towels were clean but tub and fixtures were old, a little mold in the tile, paint splatter by windows, door and frames have been painted several times, no fan in the bathroom so it steams up badly, hair dryer is weak, AC had to be set to 65 to get a comfortable temperature, outlets are old and few. TV, beds, lamps, desk and chairs were fairly new and comfortable. Bed skirt was held together with a metal pin which by leg found. Microwave was fine but it had a dial so you really could not set it for seconds only minutes. Pool looked depressed and had a note on the door that it was closed for a party but I never saw a party it there. You can do better.

We arrived to Williamsburg, VA at 10:30 p.m. without reservations and with pets. Once we contacted Holiday Inn. They were able to accommodate us with in few minutes we were in a nice clean bedroom. They have highly trained staff that make our stas a pleasant one!

This Holiday Inn is in desperate need of renovations. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn hotels and I must say this was the most disappointing. Hallways and elevators had bits of trash everywhere.
Inside the room we noticed stains along the walls, lampshades and one of the towels did have a stain on it as well. I think that filters were used on the the advertising photos because the wallpaper and shades are all a slight dull yellow. The hotel bothered us enough that we decided at the beginning of our second night to just leave and go home instead of staying.
