What Holiday Inn Patriot in Williamsbur, VA may have lacked in luxury upgrades, it more than made up for in friendly, helpful service and cleanliness. All the staff was polite and helpful, but a special thank you to Andre who changed a flat tire (in his dress clothes) for me and my daughter, running back to the front desk as needed when customers approached, and all the while with a smile on his face. He really went above and beyond to help us out. Another unexpected surprise was head to toe maid service when my daughter and I left the room very late one afternoon. I asked for clean towels and to have our trash taken out if there was someone available. I did not expect full maid service so late in the day. When we returned to our room later that night, beds were made and the room was in tip top shape, I feel like the staff there goes out of their way to accommodate guests. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you again, Andre! October 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Try again I am a Spire Elite club member and was staying on points. When I booked I asked for a note to be put in to give me the Spire Elite upgrade if eligible. When I checked the clerk didn't acknowledge my reward status and told me that people checked in before got all the upgrade rooms. I checked on the wed-site and it reflected that several upgrade rooms available. When we did get in the room there were no outlets available to charge any devices. NONE. I called the front desk and he told me "just unplug one of the lamps". I told the front desk that I don't know about anyone else but as a couple we travel with multiple chargeable or power requiring devices. He then sent up maintenance with a simple extension cord #not a power strip#. I asked the maintenance man if we could get a power strip and he seemed very put off but said he would check. We then went to dinner and after a long day of travel we laid down for a nap when we got back. About 45 minutes later I here someone pounding on my door #from a dead sleep#. when I answer it was the maintenance man who handed me a power strip and said "Here's your strip". On the second day we got back to the room after being gone all day and the room wasn't cleaned or bed made. Housekeeping had been in the room however. We know this because all the used towels were collected and there were no towels in the room. By far the WORST IHG property that I have stayed in! October 1, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good deal and location Very adequate HI. A bit dated in bathrooms and rooms but comfy beds! On this stay LOUD! banging for repair around 10am. Not the end of the world, but a disappointing morning, especially after a late check in. Was hoping to relax. September 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs total remodel or flatten This place needs to be gutted. The AC did not work the entire conference in most of the rooms used. Our room smelled. The breakfast was terrible for the money they charged. The staff was trying but little could they do with the condition of the building. September 2, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very enjoyable stay friendly staff comfortable beds This hotel needs a little upgrading, but the service of the staff is outstanding, they were very friendly and hands on. The location is great and within walking distance to many eateries and shopping. They have a full hot breakfast that is served daily and it is very tasty. The catering staff is very professional and friendly. The beds are comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Many thanks to Melissa who made our stay very enjoyable and she was there to assist anytime we needed her. Mario, was also helpful in his assistance to our group. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi needs some upgrading and the outdoor pool was refreshing. The only downside to the outdoor pool is that you need to fix the ladder into the pool and put a caution or watch your step sign where the step is. Overall my stay was great!! August 21, 2015
