Staff make it ever more enjoyable..special thanks to James and Tom on reception and Brooke in the bar and restaurant....they always make you feel very welcome, offer a friendly smile whilst being totally professional ...thank you. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Misleading booking process Booked this accommodation on the basis of Double bed only to find on arrival that none available and twins only.Showed reception copy of internet booking which gave no indication of this.Staff quite pompous and patronising. Nothing we could do but won't be using IHG again despite being a shareholder. As an aside who made the decision as to the height of the wash basin??If you are 6ft plus fine but otherwise you had to stand on your tip toes to clean your teeth.....ridiculous. July 19, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gathering of friends. Eight of us met here for one of our annual reunions. Could not have chosen a better place. Staff on reception extremely friendly and helpful. Always very attentive and actually seemed pleased to see us. Hotel spotless-seemed well staffed in all areas. Very busy but no noise, lots of room in open spaces. Breakfast excellent and replenished regularly.Now going to another Holiday Inn for a different reunion-hope it is as good! Taxi into Winchester ordered and arrived on time-£8.Bus stop 2 mins away-takes 6 mins to city centre. Brilliant. Thanks for a great stay. Wholeheartedly recommend. July 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent new concept hotailm Fast, helpful and smiley check in from receptionist, which first impression is always important. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom a little smaller than usual holiday inn's but perfectly acceptable, and the soft green light under the basin helps navigate your way in the night without turning the lights on. The restaurant was excellent for dinner, with service and food both excellent and was not rushed to finish quickly despite not arriving until after 9.00pm and clearly being the last to finish. The only criticism I could find is that there were not any fried eggs for breakfast, only scrambled. Possibly we could have asked for the to be cooked to order but the staff were clearly busy and didn't want to make trouble for them. However if this is the only fault, then I think it is fair to say we had a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again, soon! July 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super stay, great service Stayed here on a Channel Islands cruise package. All the staff were great. I stayed in an executive room, which was fantastic. Having a slight disability, I was unable to access the bath safely, but a kind member of staff offered me the use of the shower in a disabled access room, which was being serviced between guests! The restaurant was faultless - the food at dinner and breakfast on each of my two days was really first class. Assistance was offered (and gratefully accepted) with the breakfast buffet. I had two of the best nights' sleep I can remember! On my return, my luggage was stored and I was served a first rate Sunday lunch, before a taxi transfer to the airport. I really cannot praise the staff highly enough. Those deserving of special mention know who they are (!) I look forward to a return visit - probably next year. July 16, 2014
