I've stayed at some seedy hotels in my lifetime with cockroaches and gross beds. But they always had the basics of hot water for showers.
The Holiday Inn was clearn, looked nice, and the staff were all friendly.
But my heater, and those in the rooms of my colleagues didn't work properly. The condensors cycled on/off all night so that none of us could sleep. I don't know if they have them set up that way to reduce a humidity problem, but it made it for a rough week for my entire team.
I finally just slept with my heater turned off and three blankets. I woke up early in the morning shivering but I'd slept continuously for 5 hrs which was a nice break.
What made it more fustrating was that the hotel doesn't have a large enough water heater to service all the rooms. 3 out of the 5 mornings I was there I was stuck with a luke warm - to - cold shower.
There are other similarly priced hotels in Winchester. Do yourself a favor and stay there instead. This hotel looks nice and the staff are friendly, but the infrastracture is insufficient to handle the number of rooms. It makes one wonder if such basic things aren't functioning properly what else could be wrong that would be even more dangerous...

Def request a room away from families with small children as we heard everything - at 1130 pm... less than relaxing come midnight.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tom0044 Great Hotel. Great Location
The hotel is new, clean and in a great location for dining and entertainment. My only complaint would be, as a Diamond Member, very little was offered. The receptionist mentioned something about points, but as a hotel with a restaurant, no complimentary breakfast or room upgrade was provided. When in that area in the future, I'd choose a hotel that did offer those.

Everything that I needed and more. We arrived tired and left revived. Hotel staff guided us to two great restaurants.

A beautiful hotel, but if you'll need to use the A/C or Heating systems in the room, then stay away. The hotel obviously spent their money on looks, and little on making a quiet room. They use old thru-wall units that cycle on/off, and don't allow for a continuous fan. (Those of us that travel for business are willing to have a certain level of 'white noise' to mask a cycling A/C unit.)
When the heater came on, I needed to substantially raise the TV sound level, and then reduce it when the unit turned off. Lucky, we did not have a person in the room next to us.
In the end, hotels are all about a good night's sleep, and a noisy heating system ruins it all.
