Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy bed and pillows, large room Very great service by the hotel staff and Grill 55 staff. One of the best meals me and my partner have had in a while. Great drink selections. We were going to do room service but that proved to be a little expensive, so we ordered a pizza from somewhere close by; Staff had no problem with this. Our only issue was the walls/doors were very thin and you could hear everything going on from outside, we could hear the dinging of the elevator all day/night. January 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great night sleep My wife and I have been staying at hotels in the are in order to get away for a night here and there as we are currently back living with family. We found the Holiday Inn Ambassador very comfortable. We had a great night sleep after relaxing down in the hot tub and the pool area and following a nice meal in the Grill. The staff were welcoming on check in and we were worried as there were a couple of busses of hockey teams but our room up on the 8th floor seemed far enough away to be peaceful. The pool was a big attraction for us but we didn't think to pack flip flops or robes. The hotel managed to get us robes but there were no slippers available so had to walk barefoot to the and from the pool. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and was an ideal location for us going to the Auto Show in Detroit in the morning. January 22, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rumble in the Jungle While the room was good and the location excellent we had an incident that was rather unsettling. A gentleman who obviously had had too much to drink paraded up and down our hallway for the good part of an hour screaming obsentities at the top his lungs. Finally after security had been called by numerous people someone arrived, police were eventually called and it took them the good part of another half an hour to remove the individual. Needless to say many were wondering if something else might happen from the remaining group. Fortunately all was quiet. Staff who came the hallway were apologetic. Hoping to get an early night for a long journey the next day dd not occur. Upon checking out the next morning we were not asked how our stay had been. The individual in fact just took the keys and turned and walked away. ( 7am - not too early by my standards). Next time we will probably go across the street January 22, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service Nightmare This hotel was hosting our Hockey tournament. Unfortunately they only have a handful of rooms with 2 beds and cannot properly accommodate families. I booked almost 2 months in advance and could only get 1 bed with a pull out sofa. I put in a request to the hotel to have a Manager phone me back, I was told I would be given a call within 24 hours. After over a month I reached out again asking when I would get a call and was told how sorry they were and someone would definitely contact me that day guaranteed. Noone still called me so i had to escalate even farther. When I finally got a phone call back they apologized and offered to extend my cancellation time to make up for the issue. Wow what a great offering! Then they promised they could make my stay so comfortable even with a sofa bed offering to bring even an extra mattress to put on the sofa bed. When we got to the hotel I was completely ready to move on. We got to the room and I called down to the front desk to request a couple of pillows and a comforter (blankets agitate my skin). I was told no problem. Someone stopped by the room with a blanket and no pillows. I called back down and asked politely if I could please get 2 pillows and a comforter. At this point it had almost been an hour and I was annoyed so I wrote into Guest relations again stating how I was promised all these things and when I got there I was having trouble just getting a comforter and a couple pillows. Then someone came back up with 2 pillows but no comforter. I asked her if I could please trade the blanket for a comforter and I was told she didn't think they had any extra comforters. I was annoyed and told her to take the blanket then because it was useless for me. She then did come back with a comforter. I wrote back into guest relations to say that I did receive what I had asked for eventually, as I wasn't trying to be misleading. The next day I get a call from the Manager trying to degrade me for contacting Guest relations. She told me she took my calls when I called down and there was no problem getting me my items so what was my problem. I tried to state that it took 3 times to get a couple pillows and a comforter but then she tried to say she was in the hallway when I was given everything and I was wrong (which I was wondering how she could be in the hallway watching and taking my phone call at the same time. Also if your the Manager and you know a Guest is annoyed why would you stand my the room but not be bothered to talk to the guest). Needless to say I was done arguing, but have never felt so unwelcome in my life! I stay in Windsor alot and have never been treated like this! There are MANY great options in Windsor, if you are looking for fair and proper treatment I suggest staying away! January 15, 2015
