Very clean and comfortable...friendly staff...the restaurant (Grill 55) is quite good. I recommend the grilled steak salad. Nice location.

Unpleasant experience at this hotel. No morning coffee available, other than the hotel room garbage that's been there for an unknown period of time. No morning newspaper at my doorstep, an unusual thing as I've always had them left outside my suite. Free WiFi is hit or miss. Cable TV selection is terrible to say the least. No comps for loyal platinum members.

We were staying in Windsor to attend a weekend course at St. Clair College and this hotel was conveniently located, just a 5 or 10 minute drive to the college. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and staff are very pleasant and helpful. We ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant Grill 55 and it was great; very tasty and reasonably priced for the qality of the product. We would certainly stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others.

My family stays at this hotel every fall and spring when we travel back and forth to bring our son to Windsor University. The rooms are always clean and well prepared. But for some reason, our reservation is usually botched. I always call well ahead to arrange two adjoining rooms, as an accommodation to a member of our family requiring extra support. Only once has this requirement been ready for us, even when we are assured all will be fine, we arrive to find our two rooms are across the hall from each other. Why?

Noisy, noisy, noisy. We did not get the room we paid for and the room we were given was not even as described by the hotel clerk. The housekeeping staff banged on our door at 8:40am for cleaning and woke us up after a long night of non sleep due to excessive hotel guest noise.

Even though the Staff were nice & comfortable bed the common areas not air-conditioned, the bar area closed at 11, no room service or food after 11:00 even on the weekend, the room is dated, even though is was the "best room in the house "!!!
very inconvenient, sorry Holiday Inn, it is time to raise the bar

The employees of the hotel were EXCELLENT. The front desk were all very welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk with. The hotel can be trusted, as the staff. We left beyond cash money in a dresser drawer, and it was found, and wired to us! This hotel was very clean, and well maintained. The pool area was also very well kept and relaxing. Thank you!

Recently updated. Attractive decorating, beautiful pool facilities, upscale restaurant. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were travelling with our disabled son. The hotel was easily accessible except for the bathroom for showering (we were in a suite) but we were able to use the pool area showers for his shower. To be fair to the hotel we did not request an accessible room.

The one night stay at this Holiday Inn was comfortable with a couple of irritations.
The elevators were extremely slow in getting to the lobby. A couple of other guests had experienced problems being stuck in the elevator. Perhaps this was due to the thunderstorm that went through the area the day before.
The check in was quick and the desk clerks were efficient, polite and informative.
The room itself was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. The airconditioner was very loud awakening us every time the compressor kicked in. I finally put it on just "fan" to avoid the noise.
The fridge was noisy as well and I had to turn it off to ensure quiet.

this was a work trip. Stayed Mon-Sun. Great service, housekeeping staff was the best part of the group. They answered all my questions, directed me to several venues...
only issue I had was outside hall noise on the weekend. Kids running up and down halls - didn't complain to desk but assumed they would have been able to see activity on security cams.
I would definitely stay again.

I recently got married and my wife and I, along with several members of our wedding party and family reserved a block at the Holiday Inn Ambassador Bridge. The next day as we met for breakfast, everyone was raving about the accommodations and how well they slept. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Ambassador Bridge several times and it is always a pleasure. Recommend this property to everyone staying in Windsor!

I've been situated out of this hotel for the past 2 months on a work assignment. My time here s mostly hit or miss with staff interaction.
I've seen some front desk staff argue with one another.
The hotel treatment of platinum members is quite pathetic. It would be nice to have a fast track gold or platinum member line for loyal members, they don't seem this to be necessary here.
I've signed their 500 point bonus card week in, and week out, and with no credit to my end reward point accumulation.
The morning newspaper is also a hit or miss. I would get it on some mornings, and not have it delivered on other days.
There is not much choice for ihg members' in Windsor. So I guess this is why this Holiday Inn is allowed to be as lazy as they appear to be.

I do like this hotel but one of my main reasons for staying here has always been the pool and gym are great.
When I arrived there was a notice at reception that the gym was closed for renovation.
If I would have known this before I would have stayed elsewhere.
At time of booking there should be an alert if this is the case.

Nice hotel - staff very kind but busy. Hit or miss when with staff courtesy. 3 people I would love to hire would be Brandi (night shift), Zeinab (night shift) and Waldo (day shift) were very cool! They took the time to listen and address any issues we had.
The pantry was a plus and the pool area was fun for the kids.
I enjoyed the service but the bathrooms need a facelift.
Overall, would stay here again and bring the kids!!! :)

Rather than fight early rush hour traffic in Detroit, we decided to come down the night before writing an important examination at the University. That was a very smart decision. Our party of three had a restful night at a very reasonable price. Breakfast at your Grill 55 was also promptly served prior to driving to the exam. Thanks for everything!

We stayed at this Holiday Inn for a short visit while at a wedding in Windsor.
Our air conditioning was broken - which we had asked to have fixed.
Upon returning from the reception (at 2 am), we realized it wasn't... and just wanted to go to bed.
Rooms are not noise proof - you can hear exactly whats going on in the hallways.
We were not offered any money back for our room (the staff told us it was bc we had already recieved a wedding rate). Instead was offered points, or breakfast. Did not want to stay for breakfast... So we took the points. Atleast it was something.... but would have much preferred a discount for sleeping in a hot/clamy room. :(

Overall, this is one of the best Holiday Inns that I stay at. While it also has a very good restaurant, I have 2 problems:
They play loud rock music at breakfast which makes it impossible for me to work emails or read the paper over breakfast. Every stay, I ask them to turn it down, but if they agree to, it is still way too loud to read when they do.
The wine list is puny and last visit, our first 3 selections were not in stock.

The front desk staff were helpful, accommodating, efficient and a pleasure to work with as they adapted to our changing schedule over the course of our four day stay. They somehow arranged to free up a room for the two extra nights we needed during a busy holiday weekend. Thanks, we recommend your hospitality and we will return.

We stayed at the Windsor Holiday Inn the day before we met a tour group that we were going bird-watching with. We were greeted in a friendly manner. They already had noted that I had called about leaving the car there for a week while we were on the tour. There was no charge parking. They also suggested we ask for a late checkout the next day so we wouldn't have so long to wait for the tour bus.
We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly. There were lots of high school age kids and their families due to a large basketball tournament. I liked the way they treated the kids too.
We didn't have a chance to try the attached restaurant.

I am staying already at least 8 years in this hotel and I like it very much. Staff is always friendly and customer focused. Very good.
But the restaurant Grill 55 is not good. Food is below average. In emergency cases it is OK but I would not give people recommendations to go there for breakfast or dinner. I don't know what happen with some people from Grill 55 who serve the breakfast but last week it was horrable. Of course not all the woman are bad listeners but there was a little youn woman who was writing my order on paper but gave me a breakfast what was not complete. My colleague had the same. Not complete and also not the same as the day before. I told the receptionist form the hotel that when this is not changing I not com,ing back and will not send my people to Holiday Inn anymore.

I would not normally spend money on room service in a hotel for obvious cost reasons. However, the purpose of my night away was to give me some "Mommy Relaxation Time Alone"! So, I decided to treat myself to room service before I went to relax in the hot tub for awhile. Although many of the items had changed on the menu provided in the room, the kitchen staff was very knowledgeable and apologetic and quick to recommend other delicious options. I have never had such deliciously prepared steak in a hotel (I had the steak sampler). It came with fresh steamed vegetables and choice of potato. It was prepared absolutely perfectly and was well worth the cost! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and made me feel as though I was the only person they had to cook for that night. I would not hesitate again to order room service there.

I've stayed at this property a couple of times during the last 6 months while traveling on business. The hotel itself feels like it's a hundred years old, and is in dire need of a renovation. The décor is very stale, floral curtains and yellow striped wallpaper in the rooms. A lot of times when hotel properties are dated, some of the necessity type things are also missing... a little thing like WALL OUTLETS are sparse in a hotel such as this one.
This hotel is nothing more than a place to sleep when I am in Windsor on business, but in no way would I suggest a friend stay there if they were looking to me for advice on a place to stay for a weekend getaway.
I am loyal to ICH for my points, and I find this location more convenient than the other (very dated) Holiday Inn downtown.
Let's hope there's a plan in the near future to inject some modern vibes into this property--- location is very good, and the hotel could be MILES better with some investment.
Room prices, even with a corp rate are consistently higher than the avg price I pay-- even in major cities like Montreal or Winnipeg.

We had such a great stay the first time that we booked a second time. This time none of the tv's were working due to a technical problem and we were the room next to the elevator which meant from an early time of the morning we could hear people and the elevator beeping.

My overall impression when I walked in was very good. The room was clean, the beds seemed nice, pillows good. The restaurant food was good.. I was a little disappointed - that my daughter's penne pasta came out and it was not penne. It was another kind of macaroni.
My daughter competed on Saturday at 7:300 which meant we were up at 6:30am. The noise level was unbearable. I called down twice and felt that the front desk handled it very very poorly.
