Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by expegger Wonderful visit
Very comfortable room with sink & large vanity both inside and next to the washroom. Bar fridge tucked under the sink was handy. Good sized flat screen TV (but no on screen or print TV guide available). Beds were comfortable and 2 sizes of pillows available but both were too plump for some of our tastes. Pool and play area great for young ones and those who enjoy seeing little ones happily engaged. Pool was not large (7 strokes end to end) but OK for a little exercise - pool temperature was in the "0- body shock" range so pleasant for entering. Staff were very helpful and pro-active. Location was great with ample parking, parks, large drugstore and several restaurants within a very short walk. Also easy access to the south side of the river with the Moray bridge close by

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rosie58 Quiet room / excellent food
My girlfriend and I have been going for a weekend shopping
trip for the past 23 years and for certain we have been at this
Holiday Inn for the past 10 years.
We ate all of our meals in the hotel restaurant and would
highly recommend it. Excellent variety, excellent service.
It's nice to recognize staff from year to year. It says a lot for a company that can retain their staff.
We were given a corner room which was a bit roomier and quiet.
Thanks for another great weekend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SlimEsto A Place for Kids
During our recent stay with six grandchildren, this hotel provided the utmost in activities in the pool and Pirates' Cove area. The theme room was a hit for four of them as they had their night's sleep in a double-bunk bed set, with a TV and games, at their full disposal. The parents had their own section in the standard sized room, with their queen bed and a TV for themselves too. It definitely is a place for kids.

Nice and quiet.
Comfortable bed.
Appreciate the upgrade.
The only thing I noticed that would make the room better would be if there was a curved shower curtain rod. The style of shower/tub with the shower rod inside makes the shower so small there isn't enough room to shower without constantly rubbing up against the curtain. Despite the cleaning staff doing a good job it doesn't feel nice to rub up against someone elses shower curtain.

Our regular place to stay for a night in Winnipeg. Always clean, comfortable beds, and comfortable room. Late checkout for Priority members is great. Pool is shallow for kids, and the play area is great for kids.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mummabear2 Sadly disappointing
This was our first stay with your hotel Chain. Normally we stay with another LARGE chain. We decided that with your hotels kid friendly approach we would try. I am sad to say we're not impressed. We arrived around 5:30pm. Upon arrival, I had questioned the fact that we weren't able to book "kids theme rooms" online, and wanted to know if there was any. We were told yes, and it would be an addition $20/day charge. That was fine with us as this was our kids "vacation". Upon arrival of our "suite", we returned downstairs to ask for a manager. We found SEVERAL issues. The suite had NOT been cleaned at all. There was things that appeared to be dirt, food, bugs. I brought the items down with me as well took pictures. The manager came and stated they would go clean the room while we had dinner. Upsetting but at least it was being clean. The restaurant was awful. It was empty, yet took 25 minutes to obtain a beverage for our son. We decided to order food from outside the hotel for the rest of our stay. Upon arriving back to our suite, nothing had been down but vacuuming. We decided we would go and enjoy the pool and play land. The play land is amazing. My children spent most of their time playing on it. The pool, we did a quick 20 minutes but the water was so salted, and dirty(floating clumps of hair, bandaids, paper cup) that we left. Our floor was very busy as I'm sure all the families were located on this floor.
Saturday, upon calling front desk for towels, we had to ask 4 times to have our suite cleaned up and fresh towels brought. We also had to call and finally approach a maintenance person for a garbage bag to clean the room ourselves. The towels, was a joke. Upon receiving our new towels, we were told to leave the old wet towels on the bathroom floor till we checked out.
Sunday morning was our original check out day. We went to front desk around 8:30am, and inquired about staying an additional night. The front desk lady informed us that we would need to check out and re-return at 3pm? So we decided to pack up early and leave your hotel.
For a company that has been long standing and has always been geared to families and customer service I can say I'm truly disappointed. Between the lack of cleaning, and upkeep to the restaurant service we will not likely be returning. For the amount spent, we will take our business to other chains.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chips1 Very Comfortable bed, great pool, and a great view
Had a great stay at the hotel, we checked in fairly late and the pool was closed, but the manager let us go for a late night swim and just call the front desk when we were finished so he could lock up. Also had a great view from the balcony out onto to portage ave as it was a very warm night.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mommaof4 toilet plugged
Our Toilet was plugged and my husband called to front desk and they said they would send someone to unplug it and no one showed up. It was late we put the kids to bed and went to bed ourselves. The room got so hot that we could barely sleep. We were all sweating and very upset. My husband had to leave the room and go outside to cool off at 5 am. The fan was running all night in the room so we thought that it was working. When my husband came back he called the front desk to see why no one came to unplug the toilet and tell them how hot the room was. A maintnance man came and unpluged the toilet and fixed the air conditioning but by that time we were ready to leave.
