It was the first place I stayed when I moved to Winnipeg in 1999 and was the place I stayed when they packed me up in 2007 and I stay there every time I return and it has yet to disappoint me. The Staff have always been outstanding, I will be back again,

I would like to start by stating I spend a lot of nights on the road over 200 per year. I recently decided after an amazing stay at a Holiday Inn Express in White court Alberta, that I would switch my business stays to Holiday Inn and IHG Group hotels, from a competitor. A huge change for myself as I had already earned the highest rewards status that they offer.
So this was my second stay at a Holiday Inn in two weeks and I regret it. The service was rushed and rude. The hotel was dated, musty and dirty. So it started off with a very expensive nightly rate I figured for what I was paying I would receive a very nice stay like I had at the previous Holiday Inn this was not the case.
Firstly I had no hot water in my room they sent maintenance up to check it out and I had to be moved to a different room. I get to the new room and it was just completely unsatisfactory. The bathtub looked to have bits stuck to the bottom where an anti-slip mat had been at one point but yet no one bothered to clean it. There was hair in the tub which made me question the cleaning practices of this hotel as there was also large amounts of dust on the furniture and lamp shades.
The Internet access was so poor sitting at the desk in the room I had 1 bar of wireless signal which would disconnect regularly. If I sat on the floor right by the door I was able to stay connected with one bar. This is very poor when they state that internet access is included with the stay.
I do have to give credit to one lady that working the front desk on my second day there. I was waiting for a express shipped early AM delivery that was being sent to the hotel. She called me immediately when it arrived which allowed me to get an early start on my work for that day.
The restaurant was overpriced and the food was not great. Most hotels have some sort of continental breakfast this one did not and no discount was offered at the restaurant poor service I believe.
Overall this whole experience was very poor and this will most likely be my last stay at any Holiday Inn as there is no consistency in the quality of Hotel that you receive. When checking out I flat out said my stay was horrible. The response I received was oh I’m sorry… Have a great day.

Staff were very accommodating but hotel needs some upgrades. Internet, especially in the evenings, was extremely slow. One TV Channel (CTV) did not work for two days. I personally found the bed very uncomfortable.

We stayed at the hotel as my son got married and the reception was held there. They did a great job with the wedding and the food was terrific. Our stay was comfortable and the room was clean and well supplied. The only thing I noticed was some things looked tired but I do think that some upgrades are being done in the hotel . The pool and play area for kids was top notch . Kids were having a great time there.

I do love the staff at the holiday Inn Winnipeg airport west, but the hotel and the rooms creep me out, reminds me too much of the movie "the shining" great stay though if you have any toddlers, there is a "playland" where children can play, free for hotel guests.
