The hotel was very nice and clean. What put it over the top for me was the Bar/restaraunt. Not only was the staff very pleasant and helpful but the food was top notch. Not what I expected from a hotel restaraut. The cooks there really care about the meals they prepare and serve, great job.

I had a good stay. Room was spacious on the 11th Floor, with a beautiful view of rainbows and sunsets. However, the Internet access continually disconnects and reconnects, even in the lobby. Please troubleshoot/upgrade the hotel connection.

The food was great, prime rib buffet!
Room needs upgrading, chairs were dirty, ceiling leaked, heater/air conditioner was very noisy!

We enjoyed our stay in Winnipeg and especially were impressed with the friendly front desk staff when we arrived. The host in the dining room recognized us from our last stay, was very accommodating, and the food was delicious. The beds were comfy and clean and the variety of pillows on the beds were an instant hit because all three of us are allergic to feathers and there were enough non-feather pillows to choose from. Yay!

We have not had a hotel stay in a long time as I have a bad hip and back. But we were wanting a family weekend away and saw the reviews were very good and the price was reasonable. But boy was amazed. As I entered the hotel I could not get over how clean and beautiful it was. It felt like a luxury hotel right from the start! Then we saw our room and it was just as beautiful. The linens were very luxurious and looked very welcoming. We spent only one night and my sleep was disrupted with our little ones. But when I woke in the morning I had zero hip or back pain! I was amazed! Then when I went to check out I inquired about the mattress. So as I was leaving the restaurant after our breakfast the gentleman from the front desk reminded me to stop by the desk and get the information on the mattress. I was surprised that they went that far. I was so impressed. So if you are someone who is looking for a really good rest while travelling or just a getaway this is the place for you! We will be returning in the next few months!! It was that inviting that I can't wait to go back! Well done Holiday Inn!!!!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at this hotel 25 years ago and decided it would be the ideal spot to spend our anniversary. The hotel has changed a bit since then and is showing its age a bit but we still enjoyed our stay and the memories it had for us.
We would still recommend the Holiday Inn South as a nice place to stay for couples, business people or families - they are great people and for the most they treat you like family.

Room had a great view and decent. However I did have two issues - B being the minor and most likely would have been forgotten if not for the first incident :
A) Not sure if I should be upset or amuse about the servers narrow view of the world. Sat down for dinner, given a menu and was immediately told someone will over to translate the menu. Look at her surprise and check the menu to see what language it was in, as expected English. Pretty ignorant to asume if one is not Caucasian automaticly they can't speak English.
B ) Cap was partially off the body lotion bottle and secondly lotion was near the top of the bottle. If the bottle was sitting as it should on the counter, there shouldn't lotion on the top. You would almost think someone use it and didn't cap it back properly.
I did email the hotel requesting an email address for a management contact and nada - no rsponse.
