I arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm, hoping to catch a snack and maybe a glass of wine in the lounge. There were 3 security guards in the foyer and some undesireable people in the lounge. Gave the drink a pass. I commented on the amount of security and was told "we like to keep the guests safe." From what?? There was a dirty sock in the hall across from my room. It was still there the next morning. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. No room service menu was available. The next morning I went down to the breakfast buffet. The waitress looked at me and I looked at her. I finally greeted her with "good morning" to which she responded. I said "breakfast for one". She told me I could sit anywhere, looked around and realized all the tables were taken. She indicated I could sit at the bar which I did. I sat for 5 minutes. No one offered juice or coffee or indicated I could go to the buffet. I left, checked out and found another restaurant. Winnipeg has better hotels.

The restaurant food was excellent. The only issue was the computers could not connect to print boarding passes, not sure what the issue was. However, I appreciated that they were set up to quickly do this.

Just like many other Holiday Inn, this place also seem run down. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful looking and I like the fact that they also provided coupons for the free breakfast. However, the room was not well laid out, the office table and chair was kind of in a middle of the room and had to move things around to go around to my bed or had to adjust things each night. The lock on the bathroom door was also broken or non-functional. Thankfully I was the only one staying in the room but I just like things in order.

My stay was comfortable, the staff was helpful.
Only issue I had was the rate quote at check in was not the rate for the total 8 days I stayed
The rate increase was excessive, I felt as though I had been mislead, since they hadn't mentioned the rate would change to what I consider extreme.
So my suggestion is make sure the rate they verbally quote is what's on the contract and nothing more when you check in.
Lesson learned on my part.This bait and switch won't be overlooked next time.
This has removed my trust in holiday inn

Poor cleanliness of the room. Duvets and sheets not very clean. Needs to improve a lot. Bathroom not sure if it was properly cleaned.

Found this hotel to be central for everything we had to do. Rooms were clean and redone daily for the 8 days we stayed. Even the guest laundry was clean and available 24hrs a day. Staff in the cafe were attentive and have a great memory. We would end each day with a coffee and on the second day we were served our coffee without having to order it. My only downer was the cost of the room seemingly going up for every second day. Over all I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stay at different Holiday Inn's, and while the stay and service is consistently good I would say the Winnipeg Polo Park location is excellent, the staff there certainly take it up a notch.
