due to the business reasons applicable
check out was not an issue - this being I was prepared for such event
On leaving the Holiday Inn - after the business event there were x3 attendants behind the counter - on behalf on another guest, he had a problem with the booking receipt (just to point out that reception staff behind the counter could not see that there were issues and did not come forward to possibly enquire if there was an issue - this I do not expect to happen when not trained to recognise an issue at hand)
Yes, reception cannot account for all issues but being able to recognise - but, there is opportunity for reception staff to note such action.
I have seen this service elsewhere and inclusion just for you reference.

Three of us recently stayed here on a Sunday night. The staff were nice and the receptionist who checked us in was very professional and checked us in quickly. It was only then that we were told that the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment and the restaurant was closed. There is nothing on Woking website to say that the restaurant is being refurbished. The receptionist informed us that the bar offered a small menu, and that there were plenty of places to eat around the hotel. This is true, there were many places to choose from as this hotel is in the town centre. The menu was alright, it filled a gap. We went to the bar to get refreshment and menu to find that the bar was closed and cluttered with chairs. We sat in a make shift room for drinks and the meals are served in small room where all the chairs were dirty and disgusting. I have added a few pics.
We had two reasonable rooms, both were classed a king size beds but they are two beds connected together. However, they were quite comfortable bed but the duvet is not very large. In the bathroom was a bath and shower, clean towels with one shower and bubble bath gels but no other extras like nail files/combs which I have often had at other Holiday Inn.
TV in the bedroom had basic 5 channels and other channels including Freeview channels were extra cost, limited tea and coffee making facilities. The view from the room was not very good but we didn’t spend time looking out of the window!
Breakfast was not very good. We went to breakfast at 08.45 and most of the hot food looked like it had been there quite a few hours. Also while I was trying to select something a member of the staff came and rotated the food instead of bring out fresh.
This is a hotel where you have pay an additional fee for parking at £15.00 per night.
On check out I asked reception for my break down as to what I have been charged for from the hotel and was I was told they do not issue these. Reception informed us that if we had food from the bar our car park fee of £15.00 would be taken into account, but it was not.
When I spoke to reception that we should have been informed about the refurbishment, reception said that we had still be given a service! This hotel is overpriced compared to other Holiday inns, where you get more facilities and free parking. Wish we had stayed somewhere else.
