Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Was nice to be back but then....... This is a really nice hotel to stay at. The lounge and bar area are very comfortable and the bedrooms are clean. I always have a very comfortable nights sleep. Unfortunately I was not reconigised as an IHG Spire member when i arrived but as a Platinum member. When I queried this I was told 'that's what we have on our system' and that they would have to go and check. The way it was said to me made me feel that i was a liar as it didn't say that on your system. This is unacceptable as your systems should be updated and was clearly not. I also went for the more expensive fish and chips, which came out in really quick time but the chips were hard and the mushy peas tasted of curry not mint. As an IHG member I always try and stay in this hotel when I am in the area but this stay was not a good experience. September 27, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff friendly and welcoming Room allocated was situated nicely and comfortable bed but inadequate for a family room. A larger room size would have been better. Pleased with the provision of travel cot. Z bed should be replaced. Some furniture unsuitable and cleaning of coffee/tea tray(mugs, kettle) not up to scratch. Bathroom did not match the contemporary décor of the room, needs updating. Rest of hotel's public areas very nice. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Over night stay. On arrival at the hotel my impressions were good. Plenty car parking space which literally surrounds the hotel. At reception the staff were very polite and efficient combined with a friendly demeanour. Our allocated room was clean, spacious and light. Unfortunately, on the down side, the dining room was closed for dinner due to a wedding being held at the hotel. However the bar did provide hot food. Breakfast was excellent, full English, and staff were very pleasant. The check out was effortless. just handing over the room key and we were on our travels. Would we go back? Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight Stop - Good Hotel but bad service We were visiting WMSP for the weekend for my 4 year old birthday so booked a overnight stay here over other options). However, I and family now aren't fully happy with our decision re to hotel. To be clear this is nothing to do with the hotel, room or the location. A beautifully located hotel, comfortable room, plenty of parking spaces, good facilities (pool, sauna etc.) and cleanliness perspective, I must say without a doubt. We were able to relax and my rating exhibits this. But all the good things end here and is not any better with a customer service that unfortunately for us was not as good as Hotel. From the Front desk, Bar and restaurant. Very sad, that this let me down. Not friendly front desk staff, slow food service not proactive at all. I had to keep going back for small things i.e. reminding that there were no cutleries on our table despite the food had been served. Remind them of my child's dinner. I got served a warm beer. The only people who appeared friendly was probably the bar manager/team lead and the facilities staff giving access to the pool. I'm not a person who usually writes review but I had to do it this time. Unfortunately, I will not be returning with my custom to this hotel despite the fact that it is such a nice hotel.
