This may be one of the older Holiday Inn's in the UK but it offers a very comfortable stay in well kept rooms which are still a pleasure to stay in. In fact it is one of the few properties still to offer trouser presses in rooms. I have never understood why such things have gradually not been offered in newer properties.
Returning to this hotel I felt valued as a guest, staff are keen to give attention to detail and go out of their way to be helpful even though on this occasion the hotel was very busy on the nights I stayed.
This hotel is on the Tadcaster Road, in a pleasant quite suburb of the city but with a very frequent bus service into the city centre. It has ample free parking and is very easy to access by car and public transport. I'll look forward to my next visit

Overall, the experience was decent, as with most Holiday Inn hotel. Room is clean, breakfast is very good. However, the complimentary wifi is really, really bad, struggled most of the time trying to get a decent and prolonged connection in our room. To make matter worst, the staff at reception on our 2nd night (unlike 1st night) only willing to issue 2 login slip for only 2 devices - not shareable, and we had 2 adults in the room, which means we have to decide if we are going to use only our iPhone, or laptop, to access the internet, but not both at the same time for both of us (our 4 devices). Wifi is a must these days, and hence I wouldn't recommend this place unless they fix their wifi service.
