The hotel is already old and some parts of it should have a renovation but the room is nice and comfortable. Some of the staff is really nice and friendly others could have some imrpvmemts on customer service.
Will return to this hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel more than 20 times during the last 10 years. As a platinum member, this is the first time I was upgraded from a superior room to a deluxe room. The room is larger and has a king bed instead of two queen beds. The room is clean and quiet, and the bed comfortable. As usual, the check-in and check-out staff were cold and impersonal. I enjoyed the seafood buffet dinner at the Western Restaurant. Lunch at the Chinese Restaurant was not as good.

Stayed here for many weeks great hotel. Lots of facilities, good food and gym. Staff are more than helpful.

I have a general and fair expectation to Holiday Inn(s) of IHG properties, saying the hospitable staff, a comfortable bed, a quiet room.
Whenever I travel around the Asia, such as Taipei, Singapore, Beijing, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Sapporo, the HIs there meet my expectation perfectly.
However, the experience in HI Zhuhai astonished me for the following aspects.
Breakfast Cafe: The staff there only concerned with your room number and never guided you to the table, let alone serving a coffee or tea. I guess that the only thing in their mind is to supervise those guests to ensure everyone have bought their breakfast. This is not acceptable in HI level or above all over the world.
Reception: When I demanded a free upgrade to the suite(where I was upgraded to suite in Shenzhen and Singapore by booking the same room class for the previous days), the receptionist refused by the reason that there is no suites available upon my checking in. I argued with him by presenting the available information on IHG App, then I was requested to pay for the price difference between the superior and deluxe to be entitled the upgrade to the suite even though as a platinum membership.
Room: Even it was still hot in Zhuhai at the early October, the air-conditioning system seemed do not work, although I set the temperature to be the lowest, the room temperature was still to high that I couldn't sleep well.
The only thing that I could complement is the concierge, who was able to cat me the taxi every morning in the peak hour.
