I arrived a little early and there were no rooms ready. I asked to make sure my room would be available and I was told yes. I had some work to attend to and came back later that afternoon and checked in to find that the single king room I had requested on line was not available and they were sorry!. .I can stay at any hotel of my choosing, and the next time in this area I will stay elsewhere. Sorry.
Also the coffee pot in the lobby was empty both mornings.

We've stayed here a couple of times and REALLY enjoy it! The staff is great, the beds are COMFORTABLE, and the ambiance is so warm. The rooms are always cozy, clean, and soft. The only thing that would be the BEST is having a free breakfast. Normally, we like to stay somewhere that at least provides a bagel when we are rushing out the door to a meeting. But in any case, there is a Starbucks down the street, and a Family Restaurant if you want to have a full breakfast by some great Chicago folks. Thanks for all the care you give us!!

All the lightbulbs in the bathroom had burned out other than the heat lamp. When I told the desk person on the way out, she argued with me that I must not have found the right switch. I found two that did nothing, pretty sure I understand how they were supposed to do though.
Wallpaper was falling off the walls under the sink and near the tub. Overall feel of the place is dingy and old.
The air conditioner is loud and the thermostat is on it instead of across the room like in many other hotels so turns itself on and off constantly through the night.
Worst, the internet is terribly slow. Couldn't get my work done without tethering my phone and use that for data instead.
Breakfast is ok, though expensive. Night manager told another customer that "This isn't a Holiday Inn Express" as explanation. Last time I was here I reserved a king and got a room with a smaller bed. His answer was basically that I was stuck with it, too bad. It's been a few months, so I forgot and came back this time.
I was in town to visit a customer who is about three blocks away so the location is good, but even though I'm a Gold Rewards member with Holiday Inn, next time I'm going to stay at one of the other hotels right next door to this one.
