Unfortunately I was given room 2 which was close to the lift and fire escape. It was so noisy I got little sleep. I think they avoid using room 2 if possible but I had to move rooms when the first one I was given was not clean (toilet had not been flushed or cleaned). Previous stay was great so don't think this is the usual level of service so would still stay again in future as staff always very polite, beds are very comfortable and breakfast is good.

This hotel has a great front of house ambience and the bar, restaurant and reception areas are really nice. However I had one of the worst nights sleep in ages. It felt like I had plastic sheets on the bed and it wasn't comfortable at all. Not sure why, as they obviously weren't. I ended up sleeping on the sofa with the spare duvet over me, which wasn't in a cover. I was also disappointed to see that there was only tea in the room. Very unusual as I have stayed at many hotels over 10years with IHG. The room was also dated, especially the bathroom and housekeepers needs to liaise more with maintenance teams. As soon as I walked in, I had to try and hang the net curtains which were half hanging off of the rail, due to damage, which in turn meant the sliding window doors would not work. The staff were all lovely, but would I stay here again in a hurry.... I don't know.

Room 44 is the most disgusting room I have ever been given as a room from Holiday inn group, never get this room unless they have fully refurbished it, and even then be vary
